Hi I'm Tommie

I'm an Arizona native of 30+ years. I have a beautiful family. And I’m a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a great family with both a long LDS history and 1st generation membership. I have lived my whole life, with the exception of two years in the great TSAM, in Arizona. It can be said I am a true desert rat and am not too fond of the cold. I do enjoy a few outdoor activities like camping, shooting, and golfing. I have a wonderful wife and 3 great kids. I have been fortunate enough to work for the last 15 years in the homebuilding industry specializing in home design. I have always enjoyed service in the Church and enjoy the ward we’ve been a part of for the last 13 years. I’m a big believer in establishing roots and stability.

Why I am a Mormon

In the Book of Mormon the Prophet Alma extend this challenge, “if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words.” I have performed such an “experiment” and have come to my own knowledge of gospel truths. That knowledge gives way to action and application. With that I feel a closeness with my Savior and Heavenly Father. I am grateful for the heritage I have in being raised in the Church and appreciative for the life it has directed me in living. It has allowed me to experience real joy and happiness in this life. I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ is once again restored to the earth. I know as members of the Church we are led and directed by a prophet of God. I know the scriptures, including the Book of Mormon and the Bible, to be the word of God and that adhering to the principles and ideals taught therein will help me to pattern a life after the Savior.

How I live my faith

I have always had a great sense of duty and desire to serve. I wasn’t always the best “people person” since I’ve always been a bit private. The gospel and my faith have allowed me to expand beyond myself and feel accomplished in my righteous desires. I have been able to serve in many areas of the Church. I have spent one on one time with a great deal of people and have come to see the great value of individualism. We are all unique and beloved spirit children of our Heavenly Father. I’ve enjoyed working with youth and appreciate their vitality. I have great opportunities to expand my own knowledge in trying to teach others and testify of gospel truths in a variety of settings. I currently enjoy the opportunity of working in welfare aspects of the Church and enjoy seeing the principles of self reliance applied in the lives of individuals. It is always humbling to see the ways in which the Church and its members stand ready to serve individuals in need and am happy to be a part of that.
