Hi I'm Zac

I'm a husband and a father, a sports and Disney enthusiast, a scientist in the biotechnology industry, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am blessed to have a wonderful family - a loving wife and 4 fabulous children. I love spending time with them - riding bikes, playing games, watching a good movie, or attending our kids various activities and events. I enjoy traveling and exploring new places when possible, as well as taking time for repeat visits to some of my favorite places, like Disneyland! My career involves doing development work on therapeutic medicines for serious illnesses. It is rewarding to be able to, hopefully, play some small part in helping improve the quality of life of others who face such health challenges. Like so many others, it is something that hits close to home for me - my mom passed away at a relatively young age from cancer, a fact that has not only influenced my career direction, but also caused me to ponder and appreciate more deeply the things of eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised within the LDS church. As a young man, I was preparing to serve a church mission after finishing high school, like many of my peers. Although I had always felt satisfied with the teachings of the church, I felt that I needed to have a stronger conviction if I was going to devote 2 years of my life trying to teach and help others. After devoting some significant time in studying, pondering, and praying about the gospel and some specific questions I had, I was given a very strong personal answer that this is the Lord's church and kingdom on earth. The peace and happiness that has come into my life by living the teachings of Jesus Christ's gospel is an additional witness to me that it is true. I am very grateful for the clear sense of direction and hope that the gospel provides for my life and for my family. Our Heavenly Father's plan of happiness for all His children is truly a pearl of great price.

How I live my faith

I strive daily to strengthen my personal relationship with my Savior by making time to pray and study the words of prophets - both ancient and modern. As a family we try to do the same, as well as set aside an evening each week to teach and learn the gospel together, to discuss plans and schedules for the coming week, and to just have fun. Each week we attend church where as a congregation we support and serve each other in various volunteer roles. I currently help in a secretarial role with our young men organization, including assisting in many of their scouting and other activities. I also greatly enjoy fulfilling my responsibilities of visiting the homes of several families in our congregation on a regular basis, and assisting them in their temporal and spiritual needs.
