Hi I'm Oliver Garrard

I'm a Mormon. I was born in Burley Idaho and spent my childhood on a ranch just east of Declo Idaho.

About Me

I grew up in rural Idaho, then attended college in Utah where I met my wife. We were married in the Cardston Alberta temple. After graduating from college we moved to western Washington where I worked as a medical technologist for nearly thirty nine years before retiring . We were blessed with three daughters and one son. Tragically our sun passed away shortly after birth. It is a great comfort to know that we will meet again. I enjoy backpacking, fly fishing, photography, and gardening.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were Mormons so I have been a member most of my life however my commitment to the church really developed after I met the lady who was to become my wife. I knew that I wanted to spend eternity with her. I committed myself to live the Gospel to the best of my ability and to be married in the Temple . I came to better understand the blessings that come with the gospel, not just to myself but to my family. As I serve others I feel the love Jesus has for me.

How I live my faith

I try to show compassion and love to others by helping those in need. I share my garden produce with those who I think might need it and help with service projects such as helping people move or do yard work for those who may not be able to. I work with youth both by teaching classes and outdoor activity. I led a group of varsity Boy Scouts on a 50 mile hike across Olympic National Park in 2010.
