Hi I'm David

I'm an engineer, a hiker and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I are the parents of 6 wonderful children. We love to see them grow and develop. I work as an engineer in the medical electronics industry. I have always had an interest in science and the world around me. I enjoy the process of discovery and designing and conducting experiments. I have a love of music and enjoy playing the violin, singing and conducting. I like to hike whenever possible. I am inspired by the beauty of the outdoors, from the highest peaks to the smallest of details. Indeed all things denote there is God.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and taught me the principles of the gospel. I participated in and enjoyed church youth activities and seminary (weekday religious instruction). I remember attempting to read the Old Testament when I was too young to understand most of the unfamiliar words. I got to about Leviticus and decided to read the New Testament instead. I loved the stories. At age 14, I read the Book of Mormon for the first time. I read almost every night, sometimes finding it difficult to put down the book and go to sleep. The simple truths spoke to my heart and the stories of faithful believers in Christ from long ago inspired me to want to do better. Today, the scriptures, both ancient and modern, continue to bless me with insights, answers and the desire to do better.

How I live my faith

I try to live my beliefs every day at home, at work and while traveling. The teachings of the Church influence my decisions and actions and the way I interact with family and friends. I am so grateful for living apostles and prophets who lead us and provide hope and direction in uncertain times. I have the opportunity to work with leaders of youth and adults in a group of congregations totaling about 3,000 members. It has been rewarding for me to see more clearly how much our Heavenly Father loves each of us and desires us to return to Him through the atonement of His son Jesus Christ.
