Hi I'm Shirlee

I grew up in Arizona my Dad's family is of Pioneer heritage and my mom is a convert. I was baptized at 8. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother of 5 beautiful children, 2 girls and 3 boys. All of our children are married in the Temple which is The House of The Lord. We are empty nesters. We have 15 grandchildren. I have truly loved life and enjoyed each season I have passed through. I loved being a young mother, a mother with teenagers and now a mother of my best friends. Be happy now in whatever stage you are in. I thought after the kids were raised I would have alot of spare time. Nope- just more to do and more to love! it's great. I have ran 3 half-marathons and travel more with my wonderful husband. We have just received a mission call to Australia Sydney North and will serve for 18 months. We love serving The Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

Not only is it in my blood, from my pioneer ancestry, a legacy if you will, but I feel such a strong conversion from the time I was a young girl. I know Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers. I know that he knows and loves me personally. I know that families can be together in the next life. I am grateful to my mom and the missionaries who taught her. She read me bible stories and later book of Mormon stories when I was little. My testimony grew line upon line from parents, teachers, and leaders. I love my Savior and am grateful for the atonement. I am grateful for the Holy Ghost, who whispers truth and testifies of Christ.

How I live my faith

Our church is a lay church- everyone helps. I have always been active in church and held many callings from teaching children of all ages- in the nursery, young children's classes and teenagers. With three sons of course Cub Scouts I served there for about 15 years. I have also been active in classes like teaching teenage and adult women both spiritual lessons and how to make bread, sew, quilt or how to be better organized. We have spiritual and uplifting meetings with sometimes 350 ladies attending a workshop and serving dinner afterwards. Each month two ladies come and leave a spirtual message in my home and I also go "visiting teaching" to other ladies. I have done this for 40 years. (2014)
