Hi I'm Ron

I'm a small business owner. I have been married for over 40 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Linda and I grew up in Southern California and were married shortly after high school. We both joined the Church together a few months after we were married. That was 3 children, 10 grandchildren, and over 40 years ago. I am a small business owner. I sell health and medicare insurance and prepare tax returns. My family all love to scuba dive. I play racquetball several times a week. Linda and I love to travel anywhere in the world!

Why I am a Mormon

We invited the missionaries into our home after they knocked on our door because of the gratitude I felt for the Christ-like service members of the Church had showed to my Mother and I a year earlier. In the summer of 1970 I had just graduated from high school. It was only my mother and I living at home. My brother, who was 18 and only a year older than me was serving in Vietnam. And then the telegram came. On July 28, 1970, the day after my brother's 19th birthday, he stepped on a land mine and received traumatic amputation of both legs above the knees. My mother had no one to turn too. She called an acquaintance from her work who was a member of the Church. He and a friend immediately came over. Through love and prayer they brought some peace to our home, even with such a tragedy. They made arrangements for church members to meet my mother and be with her as she flew to Japan where my brother had been taken. He died the day after she arrived, and again the members helped and conducted the funeral services. So, when the missionaries came down our street that day we let them in out of courtesy. But then we began to learn of the teachings of the Church. We learned that God still loves mankind today and guides us through Prophets and Apostles as in past times. We learned of the Bible and The Book of Mormon. We also learned how to pray and to know the truth of these things for ourselves. We received a witness of the truthfulness of the Church and were baptized. My Mother was baptized three weeks later and within 6 months Linda's family had been baptized. The Church has been there and been a blessing to us throughout our married life as we have raised our children, dealt with the struggles of life, and as we have experienced the great joys of life.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in the Church as a lay ecclesiastical leader over 10 congregations in the west side of Phoenix, Arizona (Stake President).
