Hi I'm Amber

I'm a daughter, mother, wife and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I live in Nebraska now but I use to live in California for 22 years. I stay at home right now but when my youngest daughter goes to Kindergarten :( I will venture back out into the working world. I have been married for 18 years and have 2 girls. I love it here in Nebraska, (four seasons) but I don't enjoy driving in the winters. Hence 2 bumper car incidents, whoopsy!!! I enjoy reading, listening to really LOUD music, playing rock band or guitar hero and pretending to be the greatest rock singer ever (thank goodness its only in my dreams), going to actual rock concerts and I enjoy watching some TV as long as I get to use the DVR so I can fast forward through the commercials.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptised by the missionaries when I was 8. My family was not active, but I really liked the missionaries and their message of Jesus Christ living on the earth and his teachings. I love the fact that a prophet today leads and guides his church today. I love that families can be together forever if they live the standards and adhere to the guidelines the church has. I am grateful for the knowledge that Heavenly Father lives and his son Jesus Christ is my redeemer and died for me and all my sins. I am also blessed with the gift of the Holy Ghost that helps me daily to decide how to choose right from wrong. I know that if I pray he will hear and answer my prayers. I may not get the answer I was looking for and in my time frame but I do it anyway!! I also have a testimony of the Atonement and repentance. I know I am not perfect by any means, but I strive to live the commandments and choose the right. I am grateful for the knowledge that my Heavenly Father loves me and sent his Son to die for me.

How I live my faith

At this time I am the Ward Food Storage Specialist. ( I really thought they gave me the calling because I love food ). I organize the ward to visit the cannery and give mini classes on how to use your food storage and getting your family prepared for any emergency. It has been an eye opening calling for me since all around us disasters have occured and now more than ever it is so important to have some food storage and emergency supplies and know how to use them. I have served in the Young Women program for 13 years prior to this calling. I have also been in and out of primary a couple of times. I love the Relief Society program and the help it gives to anyone (member or not).
