Hi I'm Nicholas

I grew up in Utah. I love math, physics, and music, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am planning on going to college for a major in physics, possibly a minor in music and/or math. I love to play video games, play the piano, read books, hiking, etc. I am currently on a mission and having the time of my life teaching the Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member all my life (family traces back to the early pioneers who crossed the plains and all along the line have been members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints). However it wasn't till I was about 14 years old that I took it seriously. That's when I started earnestly praying about if the church was true, if I should continue along this path and after months of praying received an answer by the power of the Holy Ghost, meaning I felt an overwhelming power of warmth, comfort, and peace come over me, testifying of the truthfulness of the Restored Gospel, found in fulness only in the LDS Church. Ever since that moment I've stuck to doing what's right and in serving a mission for the LDS church have experienced the greatest joys of my life and learning what it means to bring this same joy I've received to others. Every day my testimony of the Gospel is tried, and also strengthened. I can't imagine finding any more joy than in the path I've chosen to follow, in serving my God and His children on the earth, all of us, brothers and sisters.

How I live my faith

I currently teach the Gospel (or "good news") of Jesus Christ to all people in my mission. When I'm done I will have served for 2 years and taught everyone God wanted me to teach in that time as a missionary. When I return home I hopefully will continue to share this message of hope with those around me, neighbors, friends, relatives, anyone who is without the Gospel, or who are in need of the fulness of the Gospel restored to the earth again.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Nicholas
Missions are not required for anything in the church to serve. It is simply a way for young adults around 20 years old to show their love for God and serving Him and His children, all people of the world. It's definitely an experience that blesses those who are taught by missionaries, and the missionaries themselves. Serving a mission has definitely strengthened my testimony of the Savior's teachings, both in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. As well, it's helped me mature immensely and strengthened my love for my family and our Heavenly Father. It's not required by any means, however it's a blessing too great to pass up.
