Hi I'm Jeff

I enjoy life and like to travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, father, and grandfather, and my family brings me my greatest joys. I have been married for over 29 years and we have 3 wonderful children with 5 grandchildren with one on the way. We are either visiting our children and grandchildren or planning when our next visit will be. I grew up in an Air Force family and moved often. Now I work for an aerospace company and travel the world. Traveling the world has shown me how much we are the children of a loving Heavenly Father. I've always enjoyed playing different sports but as I get older the one I participate in most now is golfing.

Why I am a Mormon

My ancestors have been members of the LDS church for over one hundred years so there is tradition there in my family. My parents grew up in Salt Lake City and I have many relatives there but with my dad in the Air Force we traveled around a lot so most of my associations growing up were with members of other churches. When I was a teenager I had to decide if I really believed what I had been taught growing up. So through praying, reading scriptures and attending church I felt the Spirit of the Holy Ghost tell me what I had been taught is true. One experience that has affected my life was when I was serving a mission in the eastern United States. I was telling the story of Joseph Smith and when I got to the part where he was visited by our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost came over me so strong that I knew without a doubt that it was true. I knew I had a Father in Heaven who loved me and His son Jesus Christ is our Savoir and redeemer. As I have grown older I have continued the habits of prayer, reading the scriptures, and attending to my meetings, and as a result my testimony that there is a God in heaven, we do have a Savior in Jesus Christ and this is His church has grown and continues to grow.

How I live my faith

I work with other adults who teach high school students the scriptures in a study class before school starts. My roll is more of an administrator. These classes start at 6 am. Through this service I have seen how great these youth can be. They face extreme challenges and need tools to help them make the right decisions in their life that will bring them joy and happiness. These classes help them to develop the tools needed to do this. I also visit a couple single mothers and a few older couples each month to provide help, support, and friendship. I also try to be a good neighbor.
