Hi I'm Jenni
I grew up in the USA, in Colorado. I have four children, and I am fluent in 2 languages. I'm a Mormon.
I am the second of 5 children. I graduated from BYU after a Spanish-speaking mission in Houston, TX. I love to travel and learn languages to better understand other people and cultures. I also enjoy hiking, camping, tennis, and reading, but my favorite activity is travel adventures with my children.
Why I am a Mormon
I'm a Mormon because when I was a teenager, I realized Heavenly Father was the only One I could depend on. As I went through struggles to find myself, staying true to Gospel principles and the Lord's love really saved me. I am so grateful for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ--knowing his sufferings make it possible for all people to return to Him and Heavenly Father one day, and how His perfect life sets the perfect example. I prayed to know if Joseph Smith was a prophet, and have prayed to know if President Monson is God's prophet on earth today. I also prayed to find out from God that the Book of Mormon is true. All those answers came back as affirmative, and following the teachings of ancient prophets in the Bible, Book of Mormon, and listening to modern prophets has made my life so much better than it would otherwise be.
How I live my faith
I try to think about Jesus and teach my children to follow Him. I read the scriptures and pray every day and try to be the best mom I can be. I remind my children to pray and read scriptures, and they have really learned a lot for themselves. I also teach teenagers about the Gospel in a Sunday School class in my congregation, and take my children to help clean the chapel when it's our turn. I want my children to appreciate the Savior in their life, and to also help other people enjoy their time at church. I also visit a few other women in my congregation to see how they are doing and talk about the restored Gospel of Christ with them. I love to celebrate the two times a year the church has a world-wide General Conference--I involve my children with yummy breakfasts and activities to do while they watch. The Gospel is not so much a grand display of fireworks in my life as a steady light like the sun that lights every thing and helps in every way.
