Hi I'm Tamara.

I love my family. I love life. I love to laugh. And yes...my hair is naturally this curly. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Junior in college majoring in humanities. Looking at art facinates me. My goal after college is to go to culinary school and start my own bakery. I love decorating cakes! It's definitely a passion of mine. Another passion is music. I grew up in a very musical family and can't imagine my life without it. I've realized what a difference good music has made growing up. Listening to uplifting music gives me a postiive outlook and gives my spirit the boost it needs when I'm down. I also love being with my family and friends. Their support means the world to me. Just knowing that they want the best for me helps me realize more of my potential.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Heavenly Father and I know He loves me. I know He has a specific plan for me here in life. I can see every day how He directs me to where He needs me. He knows so much better than I do what is best for me and what my potential is. I have found that complete and true happiness comes from living how Jesus Christ lived his life. He is my Savior and my perfect example. He knows exactly what I'm going through and how to help me. How do I know all of this? Well, I grew up a Mormon and learned it all at church and from my parents. So is that how I know it is true? Not at all. Yes, I heard it all since I was young, but I had to gain this understanding for myself. I prayed. I asked Heavenly Father if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was really His one church on the earth that had his authority and power in it. I asked if this church really had been brought back to the earth through a modern day prophet, Joseph Smith. I asked if The Book of Mormon really was the word of God translated by Joseph Smith. After all of my questions I just felt peace. A peace and love, that the answer to all of those questions was yes. There is no way I could ever deny the answer I received and the feeling I felt. And as I countinue to live Christ's teachings, I feel that same peace and love. It's not easy being a Mormon, and it was never meant to be. Challenges are how we grow. I am exactly where God wants me to be and have the faith that He will always hear and answer my prayers.

How I live my faith

Being involved in the church is so fun! I've learned so many important life skills from it. I've learned how to speak in front of groups. I've learned how to love all those around me. I've learned the importance of service. The programs in the church have helped make me who I am. Being a member of this church isn't a once a week thing. It's a lifestyle. It's living my life every day in a way pleasing to Heavenly Father. I'm always striving to be better and help those around me. This is all that He asks of me, to keep going, keep striving to do my best, keep working toward my ultimate goal of living with Him again.
