Hi I'm Corey Baer

I love singing, being with family, eating good ice cream, laughing, and frisbee golf. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have sung since I was 5 in countless school and church choirs. I can't remember a time I wasn't singing. It's practically been my life. I highly enjoy singing positive music. My family has sung together in events around the valley. We all sing, and love it so much. Normally my siblings would all walk in the door singing the song they just heard in their car. It makes me so happy to be with them singing or talking or quoting funny movies. I love my family and will be there for them always. They are very important in my life. I love playing racquetball, tennis, and frisbee golf. I consider myself a critic of all kinds of frozen custard, frozen yogurt, and ice cream. I started playing piano at 10 and developed it gradually. My goal was to play ragtime music on the piano, which I did. I also went on to learn Claude Debussy's (one of my favorite composers) music that I loved. I take joy in sharing my talent of singing or playing the piano with others. I wanted to increase my skill with music and go on and be a choir director because I feel that it could come naturally to me. I've been around it my entire life. I feel like being a choir director would allow me to do something I loved and to share it with others at the same time. So I went to a community college and made my major Music Education. That really helped me learn what I was getting myself into. I still am keeping it in my mind, but right now I am saving up money to continue my education and avoid getting into debt.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I didn't understand all the things I was taught when I was young. I used to think that I stopped existing after death. I came to know that there is life after death by the power of the Holy Ghost. Over time I asked for more truths from Heavenly Father and He answered me, (and still does) through the Holy Ghost. I do not know all the answers, but God does! I know that God is the father of my spirit. This is the reason why we call him Heavenly Father. I do know with all my heart that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. He is the son of God. He is also my greatest friend in this life and I would be forever lost without Him. He has made it so that I can return to Heavenly Father's presence clean and pure with my family and can be comfortable there. I have been changed by His amazing grace and will allow him to continue to change me to be purified even as he is pure. I have great joy in living this gospel which is Christ's. I am not perfect, which is why Christ's gospel is there. There is no other way but through His teachings, which brings us back to God. I am a Mormon because I have received these truths from the Holy Ghost which has confirmed them into my soul that I cannot deny them.

How I live my faith

I try to live and serve everyone like Jesus would. I strive to bring everyone to Christ. I want to give what I can give, and lift others any way I can. I try to consider others' feelings always, and I try to be friends with everyone. I want to be a peacemaker always. I have returned from serving a mission for Jesus Christ in Montana and Wyoming. Though it is common to say I served a mission for my church it is Christ's church so that is why I say that. I am not afraid to stand up for what I believe and hold to be true. I follow the commandments and standards of living Christ requires the best I can and repent whenever I fall short. I strive for a more perfect life, and know I can achieve it through Christ's grace. I sing praises to my Heavenly Father and share my talent of music with all that I can. I hope I can someday write some music to help inspire others and point them to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Like my favorite children's song says: "I'm trying to be like Jesus, I'm following in His ways".
