Hi I'm Mark

I'm a Mormon. I am thankful I grew up being taught the principles of the gospel.

About Me

I am a 67 year old male who enjoys sports and understands the importance of exercise in maintaining good health. I love being together with my eight children and twenty eight grandchildren. I am retired and enjoyed my working years as an accountant with local government, but am now enjoying my retirement years. My wife and I served an eighteen month mission to Norway and served as directors for a Center for Young Adults in Bergen.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up being taught the principles of the gospel and was baptized at the age of eight. At the time I graduated from high school and began college and was considering going on a mission for the church, I realized that I needed to have a stronger witness of the truthfulness of the things that I had been taught as a member of the church. I read the Book of Mormon during my freshman year at college and received a witness of the truth of the Book, of the prophet Joseph Smith and of the restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ in these latter days. I then completed a mission to Norway and feel my life has been blessed from the service I provided and the experiences I had while serving a mission. I am a Mormon because of the blessings I receive from living the teachings of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I attend my Sunday church meetings regularly and accept callings from my church leaders. My wife and I are currently serving in a Young Adult Singles Branch and working with the wonderful youth of the church between the ages of 18 and 30. We find our association with the youth refreshing and extremely enjoyable. We hope to be able to show by example and teaching the principles that will help these young people to receive joy in their lives.
