Hi I'm Matthew

Im From Utah Im a family guy, love to hang with friends and family, i play Lacrosse, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised LDS my whole life but i myself had to find out if it was true for myself. I was born and raised in Utah. I went to Southern Utah University and plan on transferring to the University of Utah to go Into Architecture. I have 5 older sisters, 2 which are step. I love my family and couldn't live with out them. I played Lacrosse in high school and plan on playing again in college hopefully when i go to U of U. I have worked as a Lifeguard for 2 years and also in a shipping warehouse. I plan on owning a Custom Home Design/building business.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 8 years old my mother was diagnosed with ALS. She ended up having to be in a wheel chair by the time I was only 9 years old. My 3 sisters and I, with the help from many others, had to take care of my mother when my father was out of town on business, having to provide for my family. During this time it took a lot of faith and prayer to make the best of our situation. My family could not have made it without the knowledge of God and Jesus Christ, and the teachings from the Gospel. I never imagined my mother passing away but that day eventually came sooner than anticipated. I could not comprehend that at twelve and a half years old I had just lost my best friend, and the woman that was supposed to raise me as she did with my sisters. I felt as if I was betrayed by god. I was always taught, he loves me individually but i could not understand why he would do this if he did love me. At this point I began to deny what I had been taught my whole life. I would still go through the actions so my family did not know i was denying their faith. I went on with life angry towards many people and living life to what I thought was the way it would make me happy. I felt i was happy as i did the things that brought me excitement and temporal joy. By the end of the day i would realize how miserable i was and that i was missing something in my life. For some reason my heart was drawn out to prayer. I knelt beside my bed and pled for help to know the things I needed to do to become happy and overcome my mothers death. My answer took a very long time to receive and i am still receiving more of it each day i live and study the word of god. At that time i prayed i felt a joy and peace i had never felt before. I knew that i needed to do what i was taught my whole life. That is to follow the gospel of Jesus Christ. Just as the sun rises on the horizon the light and truth of the gospel came upon me. My testimony of the gospel is always growing slowly but steadily.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day by studying the Scriptures "feasting upon the words of Christ" in the Book of Mormon as well as the Bible. By continuing to strengthen my foundation and build upon that rock which is Christ. I look for opportunities to serve those around me. To give aid to anyone that is in need of it. As well as strengthen my family by helping to contribute in what ways I can. To help build the faith of my family and bring us closer in unity with one another. Any way to help a neighbor or member that is around me. I try my best to live by the principles and example the Savior set. So that i can do my best each day to serve the Lord and help him in his work that is here for us to do. So that i may be a tool in the lords hand and do whatever he asks of me. I served my LDS mission. To help those in need and to serve the lord. To help Organize events to help people around to recognize who we are and that we are here to love one another and help each other in all times and at all places. To lift one another's spirits and help them to have a firm foundation of Christ. I have served as The First assistant to the Bishop. To help him in any task that he needed my assistance. To help the young men of my age to grow in their testimonies and faith in Jesus Christ, God, and the Gospel given to us. I have gone through the Scouting program since i was 8 years old and was able to achieve my Eagle award when I was a Boy Scout. That helped me to look for opportunities to serve in the communities where i have lived. It also built me. I am grateful to serve where and whenever I can.
