Hi I'm Marc

I grew up in Seattle, I've been around the world in 72 hours and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like learning about other countries and cultures. I've been able to travel so far to 12 countries on 5 continents and hope to make it to many more. When I get to new places I really like learning about the history and see what the locals have to say.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 17 I decided to take my faith more seriously, in order make sure it was something I wanted to fully commit to. I read The Book of Mormon very carefully over the course of several months while praying to know if it is true. I found myself changing for the better and all the teachings in the book made sense to me. The book really has a powerfully transformative effect when you sincerely read it. I have had similar experiences reading it since and I am very glad I was able to have read it at a young age.

How I live my faith

I think everyone has something to contribute to others at church, I've had many opportunities. What I've enjoyed most is being able to teach the gospel with other single adults in their 20's at my local church unit. When I teach, I learn a lot in the process of preparing to give a lesson and I get great insights from the comments people make in the in class discussions. I always feel like this process broadens my perspective on what the gospel means to me.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Marc
Temples are a special place for us to worship. They are used to perform important ordinances such marriage and baptisms for people who are deceased that did not have a chance to receive the gospel in this life. Attending the temple plays an important role in helping us remember the importance of those ordinances and while feeling closer to God. Show more Show less
