Hi I'm Christine

I'm a Mormon. I'm a mother.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mother of 2 children. I love to read, anything worthwhile. I served a mission in Lisbon, Portugal and speak Portuguese. I enjoy running, when I can. I am currently pregnant with our third child and a little scared about raising 3 instead of 2. I love doing for others whatever I can. I am just becoming interested in geneology. Mine is done back to the 1600's thanks to my Grandmother but I have a desire to get to know the people that made me who I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my whole life. The reason I stay in the church is because no matter what happens in my life from heartache to financial difficulties, the things I have learned lead me right back to where I should be. Believing in Jesus Christ and His Atonement don't necessarily make your life easier or make you richer or more popular. But following His teachings makes you stronger and knowing He is there to turn to gives you strength and comfort. I have never felt alone, and although at times I want to blame God for what has happened to me, in the end the gospel teaches me that He loves me and through it all He has and will continue to watch over me. When I feel like turning away, or when I step away from what I truly know, my life just isn't full.

How I live my faith

As a member of this church I visit other women in our ward. Another woman and myself go to their home and see how they are doing. We share a message centered around the Savior or some aspect of His life/teachings. We help them in any way possible. I also teach the children ages 18 months to 3 years during our meetings on Sunday. They are a busy group and have difficulty sitting still for very long. We teach them a simple message based on Jesus Christ and His teachings, we play with toys, we sing fun songs and songs about Jesus like, "I am a child of God" and they LOVE that song.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Christine
I served a mission for 18 months in Lisbon, Portugal. I used my whole life savings to pay for it and my parents helped out a little as well. We are volunteers, and part of that volunteerism is paying our own way. Other members of the church sometimes donate money to help others on their way. Show more Show less
