Hi I'm Lin

I grew up in southern California and now live in Washington with my wife and our six children. I love to run. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My wife Suzie and I have been married for 25 have six children. They are a main focus of my free time. I enjoy watching them perform in their school activities and playing games with them. We enjoy going on family "getaways" where we can spend time together away from all of the business of school, work, etc. I am in financial management position of a nationwide kidney care and dialysis company. In high school and college I was involved in competive long-distance running. I still enjoy running to keep me healthy. I enjoy working with people and love to make others laugh. This year my oldest daughter will be getting married and we are very excited to have her fiance join in our family fun!

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because of the family-centered focus the church encourages. I think the family is a great place to learn love and patience and the other characteristics that Jesus Christ would want me to develop. I am grateful to know that my family will remain united together even after death separates us temporarily. I appreciate the opportunities I have to help and serve others in the church and the community though the service projects and activities that I am involved in through the church. I am grateful for the truths I have learned though the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Especially that Jesus Christ is my Savior and the Savior of all mankind. That he has provided a way for us to return to live with him and our families forever. The teaching of Jesus Christ taught at church helps direct me to make choices that will lead to lasting inner peace and happiness and not just choices that lead to momentary pleasure or gratification. It helps me rememeber how precious our limited time is on this earth and how to try and make it more meaningful.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a Bishop in a ward congregation especially for young single adults ages 18-30. This is a time in their lives that they are faced with lots of decisions (education, work, serving a mission for the church, preparing for marriage, where they want to live). This ward provides them an opportunity to develop friendships with others that are going through similar challenges and deciding on their future. I enjoy counseling with them and providing advice that will help them come up with the answers by improving their ability to have confidence in themselves and also to turn to the Lord in prayer for more strength. Since I have three kids in this age group, I like to think that it helps me relate to them a little bit more. In the past I have been able to work with the youth, including the nine years of being a teacher for an early morning religious class (Seminary) for high school students. It was rewarding to help them start their day with a positive gospel-centered perspective. I believe it has helped them think a little closer about how the decisions they made every day.
