Hi I'm Jeff

I grew up on a farm and ranch and am now in the software industry. I enjoy helping youth be their best. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and a father of two teenage children. I enjoy history, nature, woodworking, and exercise. I have enjoyed working with youth in various programs and seeing them grow and mature and in trying to help them see value in themselves and what they can become. Service to others brings me great satisfaction.

Why I am a Mormon

First and foremost, I am a Mormon because of the peace and witness of the truths that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints teaches. It impacts my interactions and view on life for good each day. As a Mormon, I have the opportunity to serve others and that brings me great satisfaction, particularly as I see them improve for better. In quiet and simple ways I have prayed, studied, and pondered on the things of God. I know he loves us his children and desires to help and bless us. He wants us to be happy and he wants our families here on earth to become eternal families. I know that Jesus Christ is his son and that because of the atonement and resurrection we can return to our Father in Heaven and we can find peace, meaning, and fulfillment in this life. I find great strength in reading and pondering the scriptures. All of them are true and we need the Old and New Testament, the Book of Mormon that teaches and testifies of the Savior and his role and what he has done for us, and the other latter-day scripture. I know the Holy Ghost can teach us spiritually, help us remember things we have learned in the past and give our minds and hearts impressions and feelings of peace.

How I live my faith

I serve in the church in various ways. I am involved in early morning Seminary. This is where the youth of the church have an hour of gospel discussion (scripture study, activities, watch related gospel dvds) and have fun. The youth attend Seminary before school starts each day. Seminary has a positive impact on their lives daily. In the past I have worked in Boy Scouts. I enjoy working with the scouts as they develop new skills, go camping and increase in rank advancement and become Eagle Scouts.
