Hi I'm Lorrain

I love to cook, garden, arrange flowers, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Arizona but was able to spend my summers in the Berkshire mountains in Massachusetts. I have been married for 36 wonderful years and was able to stay at home to raise my three children. I now have eight incredible grandchildren. Being a grandmother is truly the joy of my life. I am a person who likes to stay busy and not waste time. There are many things that interest me. I love to cook and experiment in the ktchen. I have even written a 384 page cookbook! Floral design is a passion with me. I have gardened since I was a child, both flowers and vegetables. I love having flowers in my home and often share flowers I grow with others, just to brighten their day. Studying alternative medicine is something I do regularly. I have struggled with many illnesses that I have had to learn how to treat on my own. I share what I learn with others and help them learn to use Nature in helping with health challenges. I love doing genealogy and learning about my ancestors. I also enjoy teaching others about emergency preparedness.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? I love Jesus Christ and this church is the literal restoration of Christ's church of ancient times. Wherever I may find myself on this earth, I know I will be able to locate and attend a Mormon church. This also means I will have an instant "family" who will welcome and help me as I visit them. I love to serve others and there are countless opportunities to serve by being a member of this church. We all work and serve together, without pay. We serve out of love as well as following the example of Jesus Christ. Is there really a need for a prophet today? Most definitely. There have been prophets on earth for most of its existence. Why not today? Doesn't God love us today as much as in ancient days? Don't we continue to need His guidance and direction today and tomorrow? A prophet leads and guides the people, and even warns them as needed. We need this guidance today and tomorrow and the next day. I know there is a living prophet on the earth today. I know he leads the Mormon church through divine inspiration. He is the prophet for the whole world, not just for Mormons. This wonderful church organization helps me raise my children through its teachings and the examples of those attending church. As I study the scriptures, ponder, pray and attend church services, I am able to feel the Holy Spirit teach me that these things I am doing are right, true and good.

How I live my faith

I love my family. I feel it is my responsibility to teach, love, nurture and care for them. By living the teachings of the Mormon church, I have been able to instill into my children to become the best they can be, to serve others and love our Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ. By being a Mormon my children and grandchildren have many role models of true Christian-living, being modest, healthful living and learning to be more like Jesus Christ. Following the teaching of Jesus Christ, by serving others, is my most favorite thing to do. I have taught religious classes to people of all ages, children, teens and adults. Organizing church parties and gatherings as well as helping with wedding receptions is a lot of hard work, but I love to be in the midst of it all. I also teach classes and help people to learn how to live healthier lives by utilizing the wonders of nature which God has blessed the earth with. Serving in the community and working with charitable organizations simply makes me feel better, physically, as well as about myself. From collecting used cell phones and donating them for use to battered women's shelters, to collecting used eyeglasses and donating them for use outside our country to help a grandmother "see" her grandchildren for the first time, to teaching, sewing and organizing donations for a national charity to help newborns who are in need, spending this time serving others makes me happiest. I enjoy teaching others about emergency preparedness and have served a two year mission doing just that. Serving others helps me feel closer to my Savior, as I help those who are in need. This service also helps my feel better physically as I spend my time seeing the needs others have and forgetting about my own health challenges. Being a Mormon is my life, 24 hours per day. Attending church meetings is the highlight of my week.
