Hi I'm Risto

I'm a hip hop and ballroom dance instructor, a student, a chocolate milk addict, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love learning and trying new things out. My favorite thing to do is create hip hop and ballroom dance choreography and see it come to life as I teach it to others. I also run long-distance, make food concoctions, lift weights, and am studying psychology at a university. I find true meaning in being a Mormon and I want to live my life so that my elder brother, Jesus Christ is proud of me.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that this church is true, but I had to get to that point. I had to really really study and try to understand God's words in the scriptures. I combined reading with prayer and God answered me in His time. He waited to give me an answer until I was ready to follow Him and not hold back. Now, as I live how Jesus Christ wants me to live, I know more and more that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true and that it's what I need in my life.  Really, as I live the concepts taught in this church, I can feel, really feel a connection with God. This is what makes me feel happy and fulfilled, whatever crazy thing life takes me to. I know God exists and that He is a real person, a real father in heaven and that He understands me. Sometimes it's hard to have faith in someone I can't see, but I can't deny that He has been there for me.

How I live my faith

I have been baptized into the church to show my Heavenly Father (God) that I am committed to following Him. Though it's not always easy, I try to be a good, honest, God-fearing guy. As I do my best, He helps me reach my goals, teaching me along the way.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Risto
In our ever-changing world, we definitely need the light and guidance of Christ. The truth is that He speaks today because He loves us and is interested in each of our lives. I love that I know it's true! He speaks to us individually, through the Holy Spirit or in answer to our prayers as well as through a living prophet and living apostles. The best way to know if this is true is to listen to what the prophet and apostles have to say. They truly are inspired servants of the Lord Jesus Christ; I can say that as I've listened to the prophet and tried to obey the counsel that he delivers from God, I have grown closer to God. So have faith in God and Jesus Christ; listen and experiment on the counsel of God's modern prophet and apostles. I know as you do you will find great blessings and grow closer to the God that created and watches over you and your family! Show more Show less
