Hi I'm Mary

I'm Samoan, live in Australia and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Im a wife & stay at home Mum. I have 5 boys. My interests include my family most definitely, playing the piano, going for walks, being outdoors and viewing nature in its beauty, giving random acts of service, reading, creating personalised craft. I love cupcakes whatever the occasion, I love drive in movies with my family, having dates with my husband, hanging out with my boys, movie nights at home with popcorn and m&m's, sitting outside the temple with my children and husband just talking, going for scenic drives, camping, listening to music, studying/learning new things and skyping with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church but feel I knew for myself the things I was learning, reading and hearing were true when I was 18. Being a Mormon for me means Im still learning - striving to be better and although not perfect, the gospel helps to refine me. As I serve Heavenly Father through those around me, my testimony/faith grows stronger and becomes all the more cemented and I can say without a doubt that Heavenly Father does live and He has a plan for us. I have a testimony of Jesus Christ and know that the atonement of Jesus Christ is real. As a mother, everyday is important for me as I know my boys are growing up quickly & we strive to teach them they are here for a purpose and our existence on earth is 'not' in vain but part of a great, grand and divine design. I feel the crucial need to remind my boys daily they are never alone and to know that Heavenly Father is just a prayer away and is always willing and ready to hear our pleas and direct our paths. I know I definitely can't do it alone and so trust in Him to help me in my journey here on Earth, in my role as a mother, wife, sister, daughter, in law, friend and neighbour. And what a comfort that is to know ... that I can turn to Him in prayer and receive answers in this modern day! I love this truth!!!

How I live my faith

I currently serve in Primary with children aged 4-11 and help them learn more about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and their plan for us. With a friend, we take little treats and spiritual messages in the form of a note or printed handout that help the women we visit be reminded that we all need each other and can help each other carry whatever burdens need carrying, we laugh, we joke, we eat, we make plans, we share experiences or funny stories about something that happened ... we just talk and take time out. Serving others plays a big part in my faith. While serving my mission in Japan, my Dad would write me letters every week ... He was big on helping and doing things for others, so he would always remind me that when things get tough, when life seems hard, if Im feeling discouraged ... go out and S E R V E and do something for someone and its so crazy ridiculous but I can't even begin to explain how amazing service is. It heals and blesses and this in itself become one of those 'tender mercy' moments.
