Hi I'm Karlie

Im from California. I am a twin. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I am originally from Sacramento, California and moved to Provo, Utah about 2 years ago. I am currently 21 and have recently received my mission call to serve in the Minneapolis Minnesota Mission. Ive realized with faith you can realize the importance of God's will for you, I am excited for this new path that my Heavenly Father is taking me on and look forward to being a tool in His work. Other than being called to serve, Im spontaneous and independent, I love roadtrips, rock climbing, hanging out with friends and making new ones, sports, my family, movies, and painting. I love the ocean and all things Disney. I also take photos of absolutely every single detail and moment of life. As a convert to the church; I was baptized on October 2nd, 2010, I've learned it doesnt matter who you were, it matters what difference you've made and strive to make in the lives around you and who you stand to be right now. Einstein said that "A person starts to live when he can live outside himself," and thats what I strive to do, to make a difference in the lives around me instead of just making a difference in my own.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that this church is true, its hard, its not easy to be a member of this church, but its so worth it. Every second has been worth it because nothing else has given me greater happiness than knowing that Heavenly Father loves me, and cares for each and every single one of us. I love the community and the feeling of family every time I come to church or hang out with someone in my ward. As someone who was a non member not too long ago, I can see the difference that the gospel brings into peoples lives. I encourage everyone to act on faith and pray to know that this church is true. Dont listen to me, or anyone else, listen to your heart and the happiness that you feel and then you will know for yourself (:

How I live my faith

I act on faith and the promptings of the Spirt, and that is important. I put my Heavenly Fathers desires before my own, no matter how scared I am because I know that all He wants is to bless us and I put my trust in Him. While in California I was co-chair of the fellowship committee. We would go visit inactive members and invite them to activities and to church. My calling was to show that people cared, and you were not forgotten. Which you never are. Since moving I have been called to be a compassionate service leader, a family home evening mom, and I currently am the information council co-chair and young womens president. I've loved all my callings and I try to magnify them as much as I can. I know i was called by God to be in that calling at that time because it was perfect for me and prepared me. I pray, I read my scriptures, and I try to share the gospel to everyone I meet, especially my family. No matter how big or small, youre planting a seed and thats my duty as a disciple of Christ.

What is being a Mormon like?

Karlie
Ive been a member of the church for a year now, and I have to honestly admit that being a mormon is the best! I lived a very typical teenage life, I partied and all the things that go with that. So I had to make some changes and some were harder than others, but I did and ever since I havent felt any greater joy. The moment I started to investigate and to change my ways, I grew to be a happier, more optimistic person. Its a different life style, but its one that Ill hold onto forever because it brings me the greatest joy. Being a member of this church is the best blessing. Ive gained life long friends, a sense of well being, and I know that my Heavenly Father loves me. What could be a greater feeling than that? there is none. Show more Show less
