Hi I'm Ciara

I'm an Arizona native. I'm studying to become a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the only girl of four children born to my family. My parents got divorced when I was 16. Being LDS my whole life I'd never heard of others in the church going through a divorce... sadly it's happening more often now. While dealing with that in my family was very very difficult I am grateful for the trial because it showed my brothers and I just how much we really loved each other, and above all else I gained a greater understanding of Heavenly Father's love for me, as well as a greater appreciation for the Atonement. In High School I was known as "the mormon girl" among my friends. I didn't often hang around with other members, but I stayed strong in my beliefs. I later learned that my reactions to things were always watched by those in and outside of the church, the people watching were always pleased. They in turn trusted me, and have turned to me for a listening ear, and advice. I've always been so grateful to know that my example has helped others make good choices. In watching my older brothers serve faithful and successful missions I decided I wanted to increase my gospel knowledge, and understanding of my Savior and Father in Heaven. I quickly became so excited that waiting a little over year to turn 21 seemed like eternity! My mission was the greatest experience I've ever had! It was the hardest 18 months, but it truly was the best!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because when I look at others around me who don't have the gospel I realized just how blessed my life actually is. I know exactly who I am, I know who I want to be and I know how to get there. The trials in my life, while difficult at the time, have also been great blessings in my life. While some might lose their faith in God through their trials, I have always learned more and more just how much Heavenly Father loves me, and ALL of his children. I've personally come to know through constant prayer, scripture study, and trust in the Lord that Heavenly Father has a plan just for me. He knows my potential and knows what will help me to reach it. I've made lots of mistakes in my life, but again through my mistakes I have learned that I have a brother, Jesus Christ, who loves me so much that he gave his life for me. I see my prayers answered on a daily basis, I've felt the Atonement work in my life, and I have no doubt that my Father in Heaven knows whats best for me and loves me beyond all comprehension.

How I live my faith

I'm sadly only human and can seriously do better everyday, but I do try my best to accomplish what the Lord asks of me. I'm the compassionate service leader in my university ward. Together my committee and I take care of those that may be sick or injured. We visit those who may be struggling with various trials. We try to wish everyone a happy birthday, and we try our best to uplift those we meet. I also try my best to share my beliefs with my peers, if not through words, then for sure by my actions. I try everyday to be an example of the believers. I want others to see something in me thats different from the world--the love of our Savior.
