Hi I'm Clynn

I grew up in Idaho on a wheat farm and currently live in Arizona. I'm a husband, dad and grandpa ... and I'm a grateful Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member of the church since I was 8 years old.  I have been married to my wonderful wife for 40 years and we have two sons, one daughter and fourteen grandchildren. I served a 2 year mission for the church in Dallas, Texas from 1966-1968. Our sons served full-time missions in Las Vegas, Nevada and Milan, Italy, respectively. Our daughter loves music and teaches music in Jr High School. I like serving in the church, traveling, and attending sporting events with my family. I have always enjoyed aviation and had my pilots licence for small aircraft.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of this church brings me great happiness. I love being a Mormon. I love and appreciate the teachings and doctrines of the church and do the best I can to learn and obey the laws of God. I love the kind and happy friends that I see and meet each week at church. I love Heavenly Father's plan of happiness for all of his children and the principle of Eternal Marriage. One of the doctrines of the church is that there is life after death and that we will all have an opportunity to live again with our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. The church has temples throughout the world where families can be sealed together for Eternity. One of the doctrines of the church is that families can be together forever. I have read the Book of Mormon and know of its truthfulness. It has changed the way I live my life. I love the feeling I get when I read the Book of Mormon. The doctine of the church is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ in the scriptures and continued revelation through a modern day prophet on the earth. The Lord's prophet on the earth at this time is Thomas S. Monson. He is a kind and loving prophet who knows and speaks the will of God and he is such a blessing to the world.

How I live my faith

For the last 5 years I have served as bishop in the church over a congregation of wonderful young single adults ages 18-30. As a bishop, it is my responsibility to provide spiritual direction and guidance to these beautiful young adults and help them make good decisions and choose good paths to follow. We extend an invitation to anyone to come and visit and associate with good friends and to grow spiritually. We talk each week about Jesus Christ and how we can follow Him by the decisions we make. We love and teach from the Bible and Book of Mormon and learn how to live a clean and virtuous life. We do many service projects together and teach members to be friendly and love their neighbors and to help anyone in need. It is also my responsibility as a bishop to teach these young single adults the importance of a good education and how to develop strong qualities of leadership so they can contribute in the community in which they live. I have a personal testimony of the truthfulness of this church and what it stands for and what it teaches the members. I feel so blessed and so happy to be a member of this church - It gives me such great purpose in life.
