Hi I'm Ken

I'm an Adult convert, Family man, an Airplane guy, skier, rock guitarist and Airline Retiree. I'm Ken and I'm a Mormon by choice.

About Me

I am an Adult convert to the Church, a Husband, Father of four, Grandfather of 13 and the grateful recipient of many of Heaven's blessings. I am an Airplane guy, downhill skier, rock & roll guitarist, Airline Retiree and am currently employed by a major Airplane manufacturer. I enjoy travel, music, skiing and being with our children and grandchildren. Our Eternal family means everything to us. My name is Ken and I am a Mormon by choice.

Why I am a Mormon

Having grown up in Northern Wisconsin, I felt "restless" and increasingly focused on leaving that place and seeking a life change. I didn't know why, but I know now that the Holy Ghost must have been "brooding" in my life prompting me to make a change. After moving to the West Coast, studying and graduating from UCLA, I encountered the UCLA Institute of Religion while walking near campus. As I entered there, I felt something that I couldn't really describe. I know now that feeling to be the warm, powerful and enveloping presence of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost was a great teacher for me. After understanding and accepting that I had developed a testimony that the Church was true and that Joseph did indeed have the Vision, I was baptized. Magically, two weeks later, I met the wonderful and spiritual young lady that would eventually accompany me to be sealed in the Los Angeles Temple exactly one year later. Now in retrospect, I have to emphasize that every good thing that has happened to me in my life, I trace back to that all important decision to be baptized. I am a Mormon because I responded to the Holy Ghost. The spiritual experience I had was powerful, lasting and undeniable. I will always treasure it away in my heart.

How I live my faith

Our lives are active, full of children, grandchildren, church responsibilities and work life. Our family is so very blest. I have enjoyed a wide variety of responsibilities in the Church and have come to understand that old saying that "when you come to know why you serve, you cease to care where you serve". Service in the Church is always a magnificent adventure. I try to have some fun. I try to be a positive and enthusiastic example. After all, my children and grandchildren are watching and maybe even taking notes!
