Hi I'm Shelli Marie

I'm a Mormon and I am Proud to say I have a personal relationship with Christ, he is my best friend and Savior!

About Me

I am a successful business woman, I am part owner of Keller Williams Realty and we have 3 offices in Nebraska. I have 3 children, a wonderful husband who loves me with all of his heart, and 3 crazy dogs. We own our home in Fremont, I commute to Omaha, LaVista and Fremont to my different Real Estate offices. I sell Real Estate full time. When I am not working I love to swim, fish, camp, read insirational stories, and spend time with my family. My passion is people! I love to serve my community, and people who need help! I work approximately 50 hours a week in my real estate practice. I love to spend time with my husband and my kids. I coach volleyball at the local YMCA, teach the Adult Sunday School Class at my the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love to do geneology work and learn about my family history but do not spend a lot of time doing that right now, due to my schedule. I am agraduated from Logan View Jr/Sr. High School in Hooper, NE. the Univeristy of Ne. Lincoln. I studied my Real Estate courses at Randall School of Real Estate. I hold an Associate Brokers License with the State of Nebraska. My favorite thing to do each Sun. is to attend our church. My church is my second family. Everyone loves one another and accepts each other for who we are and not what title or job we hold. It is a great pick me up when things are not going well during the week. I love spending time learning about my Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormorn? When I was 18 years old my mother's boyfriend died in a plan crash. He was the pilot, he was heading to California to my friends wedding. He had a 4 seater plan. In the plan was his mother, the Bride and the Brides mother. They left on an foggy Jan. Morning and Sean (my mom's boyfriend) was not certified to read the instuments in his plan. Thus, he lost his visual and ended up crashing the plan in the Fremont State Lakes. When this happened, I was devasted. I started to question why Sean? Why did he have to die? Where do we go when we die? Why did God have to take all 4 of my close friends? My mother was hurting, Sean and her were in a relationship for many years. As my mother grieved her loss, A good Friend gave her a Book of Mormon. She started to read it to me. We loved the message that was in it. It was so familar to us. We had the missionaries come over to explain to us that it was a another Book of Revelation like the Bible that testified of Christ. We were challenged to pray to see if the Book of Mormon was true. We soon came to realize that the words, and messages in that book answered many questions that we had about this life, and the life to come. We both joined the Church in 1988 and never had any regrets. I am so glad that the Missionaries came into our lives and bore witness that Christ lives, and he died on the Cross to save us from our sins. I am not sure where I would be with out having my relationship with God. Prior to joining the church I was traveling down a very dangerous road. My behavior was unattractive, and I was making bad life choices. God is Great! I have been so blessed to be a Mormon. I now look at things from an eternal perspective. When life gets difficult, I know that I am NEVER Alone. Jesus is always with us. He knows everything we are doing, the pain we are feeling. The Greatest gift of all is that Jesus died to save us from our sin. Thank you for this Gift.

How I live my faith

How I live my Faith. First, what is faith? Faith is believing without seeing. I have never seen Jesus Christ but through the power of the Holy Ghost and his witness I know that Jesus lives. I know that we must grow that Relationship with Christ, how do you do that? These are the things that I have done to Grow closer to Christ that has helped me live my life through my Faith... I pray daily, for guidance and understanding. I read my scriptures. The Scriptures would include the Bible, and the Book of Mormon. Through my study I gain a stronger testimony that Jesus lives and how I can grow strength through those words. I participate in my church through my church callings. I teach the Adult Sunday School Class in the Fremont Ward. This is difficult for me because I work so many hours, but I learn so much from the students, and the Holy Ghost. I pay an honest tything of 10 percent and give that back to my church. I believe that the door of Heaven are Opened that the blessing pour out when I give back. I pay a fast offering once a month. I go with out 2 meals, the money that would have gone toward that meal, I give to the church fast offering. My actions help someone else that can not eat, have a meal. I go to our Church Temple. These are just a few things I do to live my Faith. But the biggest thing I do in my faith is that I pray to my Heavenly Father everyday. Live a higher standard so that I may have the Gift of the Holy Ghost to be present in my life to help me make better decisions, choices in my life. I speak honestly and reverently so that I may continue to be guided and directed. As a result I have been blessed with things that many people who would have never had the chance to do or participate in.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Shelli Marie
This was one of the most challenging things for me to wrap my little brain around. I finally had to pray to see if this was the direction that God wanted us to go. We have been taught that everything that we have here on earth is a gift from God. We would not have had that Job, or Career had it not been given to us by God. Thus, if the money was a blessing from God, then it is only right to give 10 percent back to the ministry to help grow the church. I can testify in our life that each time we have tythed we have been given so much more back. I can not explain it, but can only share that we have been able to pay our bills, raise our family, and always have something show up when we need it. For example, we were running low this month on money, my husband and I were not sure what we were going to do for dinners, we were invited to have dinner at a family members home, and were given a turkey. Another time when we were really down and out on our luck we had a 100 dollar bill arrive in a blank envelop in our mail box. I know that is a little over the top, but it really happened! We will look at our bills, and then look at what we have, and we wonder will we be able to pull this off, but we always have been able to make things work. Soo, I would challenge anyone to take a month and just pay your tythes and start paying attention to the blessings that will pour out. Be sure to thank God when you see them. It is well worth a moment to give thanks! Show more Show less
