Hi I'm Shawn

I love life, outdoors, and sports. My family is number one to me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Idaho. I am the yongest of two older Brothers, they are my best friends. I have a huge passion for sports in general i feel like you can learn so much about yourself through any type of sport. I played soccer and basketball all of my life but when i hit highschool i found out that Football was the sport for me. I excelled fairly well. Things didnt work out due to an injury in my neck. However with that God opened other doors for me i had an opportunity to choach Football at my highschool. One of my biggest passions now. I love to Snowboarding and skatebording and just being out in the wild. I love music, i play the drums and i believe that there is real power in music. I associate alot of memories with songs that i was listening to at the time or what type of band i was into at the time. I thank my older brother for his musical influence and help, we jammed alot. My friends have impacted my life so much they helped my out in so many times of my life and im so thankful that i have friends who help me be my best self. My parents, i would be nothing if it were not for them and there constant help and love i give them all the credit for who i am. they did such a good job even when i was really hard to deal with!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for ALOT of reasons. I was born in the church but just as thousands of others i had my own personal conversion. This happend when i was about 16. My life was really good and i had alot going for me. My parents were so supportive and did all they could to make sure that i had everything that i needed in this life especially a good solid foundation of faith in our Savior Jesus Christ and they did so wonderfuly. However i still made my own choices and did what i wanted I had a feeling that alot of the Mormons were really jugemental and that they just werent normal so i went to church did my thing then was out of there on to bigger better things in my life. I had alot of friends, school was going well i was performing in sport and i could put on the face for church, but that was as far as my mind could reach was just the present; what was going to happen in the next couple of hours i would think, how could i have more fun... So i found it all in the worng places but yet my happiness seemed to be increasing and more people we liking me. This was how i lived my life tell things started to slip, i kept wanting more and more and when you live like that your setting yourself up for failuer i know it makes me sound like a drug adict but i believe there is one or two things that we all live for and just want more of but can really get it. Thats how my life was untell one day my life fell on top of me not in a super dramatic way but for some reason the Lord got to me and let me know that i wasnt living my life how he wanted me too. I remember being really uncomfortable and mad about a specific situation and just not knowing what was going on with my life i thought working out or playing the drums would take away the problem but it didnt the only thing that would was a Prayer so thats what i did, i remember praying that day asking God if he was there. I testify that he is there and that he know what is going on in out lives and wants to help us. He helped me.

How I live my faith

I show my faith by having Fun, real fun that will last and will make you feel good at the end of the day. I love going out with my friends and doing crazy fun things but keeping the the commandments of God at the same time took me awhile to realize that was even possible but i promise it is for sure. when there are any activities in the church and there are A LOT i am always the first one there and fully into it especially when we are wakebording or doing a service project for someone!! I show my faith by striving to imporve who i am daily.
