Hi I'm Tallee

I grew up in Ohio. I worked in TV news for 7 years. I'm a mom to all boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a married mom of three boys living in the Pacific Northwest. We love the beauty of the area and in particular take advantage of good sailing conditions! I grew up in Ohio but school and work took me to other states as well. I had a wonderful career for 7 years in television news. I am a news junky! I'm often immersed in news websites. I'm also a complete foodie although not great at cooking! Food shows, food trucks, interesting restaurants, I love it all!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in another faith that had good values and good people. My family benefited by attending. But something was missing. There were just no concrete answers to why we are here on this earth, where did we come from, where are we going and what did we need to do daily to return to our Heavenly Father. When the missionaries came to our house our family, like many families, was struggling and a bit rudderless. When they taught us the answers to these questions, bore testimony that God had a plan for us, a different feeling settled upon our home. Our life here had a purpose. I got to see my family before and after our church membership and know that I wanted these things for my future family too. Now that I'm a mother being Mormon boils down to the need for personal and modern day revelation. The love I have for our boys consumes me and I long to know how to make sure they grow up to be good, faithful young men who are good husbands and fathers and are an example of righteousness. I can't achieve these things on my own. I need the guidance that the scriptures give me and that a modern day prophet gives me. All of the teachings of the Church point to family and to Christ, the two most important things to me, so it's where I want to be.

How I live my faith

My church participation is not a once a week thing. Belonging to the LDS church permeates the way I live and the way we raise our family. I live my faith through daily family and personal prayer, through regular personal and family scripture study of the Old and New Testaments and Book of Mormon. I try daily to teach our children Christian values and how to put those into practice. Where there is a need, be it an individual or community need, that I can fill I try to fill it. Sunday is truly a day of rest in our home which sometimes means missing out on activities we would do during the rest of the week. There are no major family or personal decisions made without first weighing them against our beliefs and asking God if it is right.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Tallee
The Church does not endorse political parties. We are encouraged to vote according to the dictates of our own conscience and participate in community affairs for the betterment of society. You'll find people of various political backgrounds at church just as you find prominent LDS politicians on both sides of the aisle. Show more Show less
