Hi I'm Gwen

I'm a "can do" girl. I love a good challenge. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be outdoors whether in my garden or in the mountains. There is no better view than standing on the top of a tall mountain where you can see forever. I love backpacking through beautiful meadows full of wild flowers and seeing waterfalls on the way to the top. It helps me to realize how much Heavenly Father loves me because he has created such beauty for me to enjoy. I also learn the valuable life lesson that things of great value are worth working for. Family is also very important to me. My mother always had to work. She had her own sewing factory and taught me how to sew when I was 8. I feel like I grew up on an sewing machine. I began working for my mother in her sewing factory when I turned 16. We made frilly little girls' dresses. Oh so many years later, I am still privileged to work with my mother. Now we make outfits for collectible dolls. We live in different states, but this keeps me close to her. I am a wife, mother and grandmother; a daughter and sister. The most important relationships we will ever have are those within our own family.

Why I am a Mormon

Knowledge is power. Understanding that there is a purpose to my life helps me to make good choices and follow the example of my Savior Jesus Christ. Every choice we make comes with a consequence, whether good or bad. Some choices are made quickly and last an eternity. Through a study of God’s plan of happiness found in the Book of Mormon, I can stay focused on and do those things that matter most. I am happiest when I use my agency to follow Christ's example. Doing good and helping others brings a sense of satisfaction.

How I live my faith

I love the scriptures! They are a treasure and guide to me. Within their pages are answers to all of life's questions. I have found that as I become more familiar with them, I can help others find answers to their questions and struggles. Instruction that comes from Heavenly Father carries more weight and can be more effective in overcoming weaknesses. When we understand that all of God's commandments are there to keep us safe and bring us happiness, it is easier to keep them. We can have daily guidance in our lives as we pray and study the scriptures. When we want to talk to God - we pray. We find His answers as we read the scriptures. "Ask, and it shall be given you; Seek, and ye shall find; Knock, and it shall be opened." Heavenly Father answers our prayers!
