Hi I'm Candice

I love my family. I love teaching others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love teaching people things...teaching about things I'm passionate about is my goal in life. I'm going to college to become a high school or Junior High teacher right now and I'm so excited about it! I transferred Universities this last Fall and love the new place I'm at in life...meeting new people and trying all sorts of fun activities. I love singing and pretty much everything to do with music. Soccer and Racquetball are my favorite sports and I read a lot in my down time at home.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this religion but have learned for myself that the gospel brings light and joy into my life. I've spent years finding out for myself and have such a love and passion for this gospel. It makes me so happy to live it, to be clean, and to know that God loves me and every person on earth. I believe the Book of Mormon to be another testament of Jesus Christ. I believe Jesus Christ is the son of God and that He atoned for us so that we may return into God's presence after this life. I believe God is my loving Heavenly Father who has given us modern day revelation through modern day prophets. I know that the teachings of our church WILL bring happiness and peace to anyone who will accept and live them because I have experienced that for myself. So, take the challenge and try if you haven't already.

How I live my faith

I have served in many capacities in our church and love each one. I served as a youth leader in our young women's program. I have been able to use my love of music by play the piano and organ for many congregations to sing to. Through the years, I've sung in church meetings serveral times. I served as a religous instructor in our Women's organization last year and was sad when I moved because that truly was my favorite service and calling of all. Basically, this church is my life and every service I perform in my family, school, or community is motivated by the teaching I've learned from being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (by being a Mormon). I try to live up to everything Christ would have me be and I try to keep Him continuously in my mind as an example.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Candice
Our church services last, in total, three hours on Sunday. Our primary worship service is called sacrament meeting. In this meeting we sing hymns, partake of the sacrament, and give and listen to testimony. The other two meetings during the three hour period are instructional classes about the gospel. The classes are split up according to age. One class is generally for the teaching of stories and doctrines from the scriptures. The other is for teaching about various other gospel topics (prophets, living gospel principles, basic doctrines, etc.). Visitors are always welcome in our church meetings. We love to see new faces. Babies, children, adults, and elderly adults are all welcome. Show more Show less
