Hi I'm Heidi

I love the Arizona Desert.I love to create Wedding Dresses. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to create almost anything. The world around me can inspire me anytime anywhere. I have four children and of course they are the best inspiration around. My Husband and I have been married 21 years. We have made several cross country trips and love the scenery and diversity we have encountered. One of my favorite places to be is Cape Cod, Ma. It is such a fantastic place and I will never tire of visiting there. I sew almost everyday. I have made over 50 wedding dresses and re-done or altered countless others. Proms, bridesmaids and costumes are also common among my daily sewing. I also make diaper bags by the dozen. I have also sewn draperies, pillows, clothing, quilts, purses and even obscure things like chaps, upholstery and head covers for horses. Pretty much anything a machine will sew I have done. It's endless the possibilities and I love it. I also love to paint with watercolors although i don't get to it as often as I would like. But manipulating the colors is therapeutic and relaxing to me. My parents have always told me I could do anything and it seems I always try and sometimes I fail but that's part of the fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and raised in a fabulous LDS family. Love always abounded and we are still very close today. As the church has always been part of my life i still can recount a time when I had to make the decision to continue with what I had been taught or to go another direction. I think that all members make this important decision at some point in their lives. It might be subtle or a big occasion but it's there. I know I wanted my children to have the security that comes from knowing Jesus Christ lives and that their Heavenly Father loves them. I have read the Book of Mormon and know that it is true. It brings peace to my soul when I read it. And when my family reads together from it their is greater harmony. Don't know how that works I just know that it does. Joseph Smith was the Latter day Prophet that saw Jesus Christ and our Father in Heaven. When I was only 8 My parents took me to the sacred grove, and I offered a silent child's prayer to know if this truly happened. I felt such a strong impression and felt for a surety that it did. I have looked back to that experience so many times in my life and it had strengthened me and helped me to move ahead. I know that we have living prophets today and that following the commandments make this difficult life well worth living. I know that Jesus Christ came to earth to show us the way and to die for us. I know he was resurrected and I have felt his influence throughout my life. He lives today and I look forward to His Second Coming.

How I live my faith

I have enjoyed serving in several areas of the church. I have worked with youth ages 12-18 and attended this youth girls camp as a leader several times. It's fun and great to see the sweet girls learning and serving each other. I love music and have used my skills, although not as superior as some, played the piano, sang in choirs, and was the Chorister for primary which serves children ages 18mo.-11 years old. Childrens voices are the best! I have also served as the Leader for the Women's organization for several years. It is an amazing experience leading such incredible women that have so much to offer. For the past 8 years I have lead the women that are called to teach the Primary children. I have been blessed to travel throughout my area and see these women teach and bless the lives of these children. I was able to encourage and teach them in meetings on a regular basis and it seemed I always learned as much as I taught. Just recently I was asked to change this responsibility to again serve in the womens organization as a counselor to the president in our area. I will coordinate learning and socializing activities often that the women will be invited to, and will be called to teach from time to time in our Sunday meetings. I am so excited for this new adventure. I have always enjoyed Visiting teaching where I can visit with certain sisters in my church every month. We learn so much from each other.
