Hi I'm Linda

I'm a mom, youth leader, school teacher and an advocate for the safety of children worldwide. I love travel, music, and nature.

About Me

I'm married to an awesome man who runs a large healthcare organization in Minneapolis. He is a well-known CEO, but is the most amazing spouse and Father. Through his job, we have come in contact with many great people all over the world. It has made me much more tolerant and understanding of the human race and I'm thankful for that. We are all part of one big family. I have four beautiful daughters who are all so different.. The oldest is a fashion designer and married with three children. The second is an opera singer and married. The third is a school teacher and married. The fourth is a cowgirl and married. Being a full time mom is the best job on the planet and I feel lucky I was able to do that. It's an awesome privilege to be at the crossroads of your children's life. I am passionate about providing a safe world for our children on this planet. I was on the board for Child Advocacy Center. It's mission was to reduce trauma to children and families who were victims of child abuse. I started the process of developing a program on child abuse prevention, now being taught in the school system. I am presently supporting an orphanage in Africa. I recently piloted Justserve.org for my church in Colorado. I am a youth leader of teenage girls in my church congregation. They range from age 13-18. I love their enthusiasm for life. I love the outdoors and am an avid skier. I have recently taken up fly fishing. I play the piano to relax.

Why I am a Mormon

I guess you could say that as a child I was Mormon because my parents were. Now I'm Mormon because I wouldn't have it any other way. I have felt the confirmation of the spirit giving me a witness that I'm in the right place belonging to this Church. I felt an unforgetable burning through my body on the day of my baptism. Through this church I have learned to center my life in Christ. It has made my marriage better. It has made me a better mother. It has made me a better friend, and it has made me a better member of my community. Through the Book of Mormon I have learned how to deal with my troubles, how to find true peace and joy in my life, how to be a better parent and spouse, how to recognize the worth of trials and their role in refining me, how to be a good leader, how to treat my fellowmen, how to take hold of Christ's atonement and make it work in my life. I could go on and on but I don't have room. We can find momentary happiness through things and experiences in this life, but true peace and lasting joy comes through knowing there is a God who is aware of me and a Savior who has come to comfort me and to perfect me. I am a Mormon, because it teaches me there is a plan for me. I love nature and I see how God has a plan and order for the existence of every living thing. I see that all existence is created to progress. He has developed a plan and order for his children. I hope to go out of this planet a much better version of myself from when I came into it and being a Mormon helps me do that. I am a mormon because there is a living prophet alive on this earth today to guide me in modern days and modern times. I find great comfort in knowing this. I am a Mormon because this church contains every part of the Gospel that Christ himself established over 2000 years ago. All of that has been restored to us. That is why I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the example of Christ and loving and serving my fellowmen as he did. It always amazes me how my greatest joy and satisfaction in life comes from serving those in need. I love to serve my community. I have exercised faith with friends of other faiths as we work together for a common good. I belong to the largest women's organization as a member of this church. I have been asked to join many sororities, but I tell people I'm already in the largest one on the planet with the best motto "Chairity Never Faileth". Our women's organization was desinged to make us better women, spouses, mothers, and members of our community. We also offer relief to those in need be it at church, in the community or the world. I work with youth in my church. Our youth program has laid out an amazing plan for them and I like to follow it. We teach these young girls that they have the power to change the world. I teach them seven ways they can do this. The first is to have Faith in a God who believes in them and to have faith in themselves, The second is to have an understanding they come from God and that knowledge is empowering. The third is to understand that they are you unique and have worth. The fourth is to understand that they should always be in pursuit of knowledge. The fifth is to understand that they have to be accountable for the choices they make, The sixth is to do good works wherever they go. And the seventh and eight is to approach life with integrity and virtue. I pray to God each day and give him thanks for my very existence and to ask for his help daily, as I am truly at his mercy. I read the words of Christ and his teachings as often as I can. I'm not perfect but I understand the importance of Christ in my life who can help me overcome my imperfections daily. Living my faith means continually progressing on the path that has been designed for me, trusting that I will learn the life lessons God has prepared for me.
