Hi I'm Michael

I'm a twin and a poor college student. I love being outdoors and reading good books. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I’m a senior in high school, a twin, and a musical enthusiast. I love to swing dance and play soccer. I plan on going to Brigham Young University and serving a mission very soon. My favorite time of the day is the time I get to spend with my family. I also love to eat and consider myself a ice cream connoisseur. I love to laugh and have fun with my friends. I believe I'm quite the comedian, but I think most of my friends would disagree. I love spending time at church and reading the scriptures.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because it brings me joy. By applying gospel principles I am able to feel peace and happiness even when I am going through hard times. Through gospel study I learn the principles that can make me a better person. When I work hard to improve myself I feel a sense of satisfaction as I overcome the faults and weaknesses that I have. I am also a Mormon because of the feelings of friendship and unity I enjoy as a member of the Church. During my turbulent teen years, I have enjoyed close bonds with the other youth my age in the Church. Each week we get together and have fun while learning about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I also have meaningful bonds with leaders who love and serve me. Every time I talk with one of my leaders, I feel inspired to be better. I have the opportunity to seek guidance from those leaders and as I seek direction I become more confident in the life I have chosen to lead and I grow closer to Heavenly Father. Finally, I’m a member of the Church because it helps me to strengthen the bonds within my family. While our family has its ups and downs I know that we can overcome our differences and grow closer together. Through the principles taught in the Church, I know that I will be able to live with my family for the rest of my life and through eternity. This gives me strength because I know that I will be able to share forever with those who love me most.

How I live my faith

One of the ways I live my faith is through service. Almost on a weekly basis, I have the opportunity to serve members of the Church and those in my community. Serving others brings me so much joy because it shows me how fortunate I am and I am able see the joy it brings to those people who I serve. Soon I will be leaving to serve a mission. While this is a frightening thought to have to leave my family and maybe the country for two years, I am excited for this opportunity. I feel blessed that Heavenly Father has entrusted me with this calling to share the joy I feel to those who don’t have it yet. The Church has asked that if we have the means necessary we should pay for our own missions. Because it does cost a fair amount of money, I have been saving for more than three years. While I have not had the opportunity to purchase everything I want, I know that the sacrifice now will lead to greater blessings later. I am so anxious for the opportunity to serve a mission; I am willing to put away the desires of today for the more lasting blessings of tomorrow. Lastly, I live my faith by the example I try to set each day. I try to be the best person I can be in everything I do. I try to be the person that Jesus Christ would have me be. Even though I make mistakes, I try harder every day. My hope is that as I try to be my best, those who are around me will be better as well.
