Hi I'm Aden Shelley

I like to get what i want. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I march to the beat of my own drum. I'm all about taking risks and doing stuff for the thrill of it. I enjoy being creative with anything I can get my hands on. Some of the things I'm into are music, drums, skating, snowboarding, sports, travelling, and art. I have a small family which includes my mom and dad, my older brother, and i'm the youngest. I'm a student of life at the school of hard knocks.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church. I went because my parents wanted me to and that was it. Growing up, I didn't have a clue what was going on. I took things for granted and didn't realize how important the church and it's teachings were. It wasn't until later on when I went off and did my own thing that I realized I wasn't really happy and that something was missing. The answer was right in front of my face! Eventually I figured out the importance of the restored gospel in my life by reading the Book of Mormon, and finding out for myself if that book was true or not by praying to God. Well, I discovered that everything I had been taught was real, and not just "interesting stories" that go in one ear and out the other. The Book of Mormon is the word of God and contains the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the way given to us so that we can be successful. It changed my outlook on life, and continues to help me become a better person. Among other things I've learned what it means to have peace, happiness, and self worth. The teachings found in the Book of Mormon and throughout the LDS church have opened my eyes to what really matters in this life and what I can look forward to in the next. My understanding of who God really is, and what He wants me to achieve has strengthened my faith and my relationship with Him through my Savior Jesus Christ. This knowledge has blessed my life and that's the reason I choose to share it with others.

How I live my faith

Life is always going to be challenging, but by living the gospel my faith and desire to do what is right is strengthened. Obedience often gets a bad rep because you're not cool if you're doing what someone else wants you to. With God that's not the case. It's always a losing battle if you're fighting against Him, and the blessings I've experienced from being obedient to Him are too good to pass up. Right now i'm serving as a full time missionary in the Billings, Montana mission. Everyday i get the chance to live my faith by talking to people about what i believe and inviting them to check it out for themselves.
