Hi I'm Steven Hoffman

I'm good with computers, I'm from Utah, I love helping people, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love working with computers and electronics in general. Whether that means installing programs, cleaning up the comptuer to make it run better, or opening up the box itself and replacing parts, I love it all. Perhaps my favorite part is helping other people's computers work better, to get them set up with the programs they need, or whatever they need help with. I love jumping on the trampoline. As a kid, I learned several trampoline tricks on my own, front flip with a 360 twist, back flip with a 180 twist, and many others. I love skiing, and going to Bear lake to spend time with my wonderful family and to hit those waves on a Jetski. Yeeeha!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, and often people will say, "Well, you grew up Mormon, so you just follow after your parents." Yes that is true, I love and respect my parents and they set a good example for me. But it is more than that. You can lean on the Faith of your parents for a while, but for each and every person, eventually you must make your choice for yourself. I truly feel for myself that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's church on the earth today because I have strived to follow the prophet, and to learn about and follow the scriptures in the Book of Mormon as well as the Bible, and have found peace and fulfillment in my life that comes from nowhere else. Everyone makes mistakes, and I've made my fair share too. I know that I can be forgiven and have all my guilt washed away through The Atonement of Jesus Christ, so that I can be free to live my life. I don't know everything, but I do know this, that that first and Great commandment that God gave to love him, and the second to love our neighbor, is truly how we work together to bring about joy and peace. I strive to love those I meet, and to try to understand what they need and to offer to help them with what they need. Because I am happiest as I strive to help others, because that's what life is all about: loving other people, helping them as much as we can, and sharing the Gospel of Christ with them so they can have their sins washed away through the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have lived my faith by doing service projects, one of which was while I was a Boy Scout, I did an eagle project, as the Church encourages the scouting program. I strive to help everyone I can, and now I am serving a full-time mission for the church, where day after day I go out with another missionary from 10 in the morning until 9 in the evening, teaching and striving to serve in any way we can. I am striving to not just believe in Christ, but to live my faith by striving to live and be like the Savior. I have grown so much on my mission so far, and I have learned to be more loving like the Savior, more Humble, and more close to him. Because in order to have the direction we need in life, we need to strive to become as close to God as we can, to build that personal relationship with him, learning to trust him and to rely on him always. That is my mission, to help others to also build this relationship with God. I live my faith by striving to keep the 10 Commandments, as well as the other commandments too. I know I'm not perfect, but as I strive to do what God asks me to do, it has kept me safe time and time again, kept me free from guilt, and helped me to keep becoming the man God wants me to be.
