Hi I'm Abbie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a competitive Swing and Ballroom dancer, a full time student and have a full time job. I also run a baking business on the side specializing in cakes, pies and cookies. I worked as a live-in nanny for several years while trying to decide what I wanted to study in school.

Why I am a Mormon

because this gospel is true. Bottom line. I was born into this church, but I got fully converted when I was 16. That's when I learned for myself that this gospel is true. The teachings and precepts of this gospel make this mortal life so much easier to navigate. I'm grateful every day for the opportunity I have to be a member of this church.

How I live my faith

Coming from the East Coast, I grew up in a predominately non-LDS environment. I learned early how to answer difficult questions, sometimes putting myself in the situation of educating teachers about what "mormons" believe. When my parents moved the family to Washington, I was suddenly surrounded by members of the church. I saw the same people at school that I saw at church, it was a complete culture shock. But I've now learned how to mold the two worlds together into one even better world. I currently serve my ward (congregation) as a teacher. I have the opportunity to teach an amazing group of women one Sunday a month. It's a great learning experience for me, one that pushes my comfort zone in several ways and helps me to grow. It's an experience I'll be forever reaping the rewards of.
