Hi I'm Suzi

I grew up all over, and ended up in Spokane, Washington. I love life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Straight out of High School I went to college and got a degree in Accounting. After I graduated I got a job working as an auditor. As part of my job I get to travel to various places and meet a lot of interesting people. When I am not working I like to cook, crochet, sew, clean, cook, read, watch movies, listen to music, and hang out with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the LDS church, but I haven't always believed its teachings. There was a time in my life that I often refer to as "the dark years"where religion was not a part of my life. I found that the light in my life was growing dimmer and dimmer until one day I realized that it was about to go out. I was mean, and angry, and I felt apathetic and empty. Then one day I found myself standing in front of one of the LDS Institute of Religion buildings. I'm still not sure exactly how I got there, but after standing outside staring at the buliding for a while (which I'm sure looked concerning to anyone watching me), I went inside. Immediately I felt my light buring a little bit brighter and after a course of prayer, scripture study, soul searching and repentance I one day noticed that I was the happy, productive person that I rememberd being. The thing that I love the most about the Mormon religion is that it challenges me to be better. Some people see our religion as restricting, but, to me, it is precisely those "restrictions" that make us free. I love that by aligning my life with the gospel I can feel the love of my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ in my life constantly and I can hear the still small voice of the Holy Spirit guiding me when I am in need. My second favorite thing about the Mormon religion is that it is family centered. Knowing that I have the opportunity to live with my family for all of eternity brings me immense joy. I believe that this is the true gospel of Heavely Father and Jesus Christ, I feel it in my heart every time I to ask if it is true.

How I live my faith

The most important part of living my faith, to me, is my daily scripture study and prayer routine. I can always tell if I miss reading my scriptures because my day seems a little off. I love to help those in need, and enjoy participating in the Visiting Teaching program where we pair off in twos and go and visit other sisters within our ward. I am the Family History Coordinator for my ward which I really enjoy. As part of my calling I get to help other members of my ward do work on their family history so that they can perform saving ordinances for their ancestors. Additionally, as part of my calling, I participate in Family Search Indexing, where we review old records such as a census and input the information into a database so that it is not loss and it is more easily searchable for others who are looking for their ancestors.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Suzi
The temple is a place where worthy members of the church can go to learn truths, receive sacred saving ordinances, and provide those same ordinances for those who have died with out the opportunity to receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
