Hi I'm Clarissa!

I am a wife and a mother. I'm a dance around the house while singing to the music kind of girl. I love life. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I usually don't feel like there is much to me. But when I'm asked to write about myself, I just don't know where to start. I am first and foremost, a daughter of God. I am also a wife to an amazing man who has done nothing but ensure my happiness for the last 13 years. We have 4 kids with one more on the way. I'm blessed to be a stay at home mom. Most days I find myself drowning in laundry, toys, dishes and dust! It's the hardest job in the world. But it's right where I want to be. I enjoy spending time with my family. One of my favorite things is to dance around the house with my kids, the music turned up and the kids being as crazy as me! I happen to be a pretty fantastic dancer, and my kids have inherited that trait from me. ;) I love to write...poems, stories, blog posts and songs. I'm a huge ametuer at all those things, but I love it! Over the last 2 years, I have picked up the habit of running. I have finished 2 half marathons, 1 duathlon (run, bike, run), a small triathlon (swim, bike, run), with smaller races in between all of those. I'm certainly not fast, but I'm a finisher.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church by a single mother of 6. She made going to church a priority in our lives. I have continued my activity in the church because I have gained my own testimony. I have had questions and moments of doubt. But, I have had those questions answered and those doubts wiped away through prayer and practicing the principles that I have been taught. It seems that the more I talk about my beliefs with others, the deeper my convictions become. I truely believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus died for all of us. But I also know that He lives for all of us too. This Church teaches me how I can embrace all the blessings He has offered us. It is not an easy thing to do, but for all those blessings we have been promised...it is worth it.

How I live my faith

I am fortunate to be able to work with the Young Women in my ward as their president. The girls that are 12 - 18 years old have taught me more than I ever thought they would. I try my hardest to teach them the gospel of Jesus Christ, how to be good examples and how to gain their own testimonies. We find oportunities to do service in the community, attend a yearly girls camp and do weekly activities that increase our knowledge of a variety of things. I have so much fun with them and they really help to bring out a more youthful side of myself. I feel a strong sense of responsiblity for these young women. I have grown to love these girls so deeply.
