Hi I'm Cal

I love boating with my family and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Cal. I am married to Chay, my wonderful wife of 25 years. We have 3 beautiful daughters and 2 granddaughters. I have lived in Utah most of my life, but have spent the last 6 years in Arizona. I served a mission in Holland. I enjoy my professional career as a software engineer. I love to water ski and would definitely say it is my favorite hobby. I also enjoy basketball and love to travel with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of the LDS church. I learned great values from my parents, but had to gain my own knowledge about the truthfulness of the church. Many of my beliefs about the church were formed in my teenage years, but it was the years leading to a mission and serving a mission that were turning points in my testimony about the truthfulness of the restored gospel. Prayer, scripture study and meditation have helped me to seek and receive answers through the spirit have confirmed and strengthened my belief in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know I have weaknesses and have not always lived my life as I should, but have always found that I truly find happiness when I follow the principles the gospel teaches. Through the years I have gained a stronger knowledge and testimony of the atonement of Jesus Christ and the importance this is in our lives. I truly believe we are on a journey to improve and learn. We all make mistakes, but the reason the church and gospel are so important to me is because I know through it's teachings and principles we can find happiness and understand the path we must follow to once again be in the presence of our Heavenly Father and Jesus and enjoy eternity with our families and those we love.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith through service both in the church and in the community. I have enjoyed the opportunity to teach and help young children in different age groups from 4 to 10. I have also worked with teenage boys teaching gospel lessons along with scouting and community service and activities. I also believe that we should strive to live our lives like Christ did. It is not easy and we all have weaknesses and make mistakes. We should be kind to others, be respectful of others and always be willing to lend a helping hand.
