Hi I'm Jenny

I'm happy, some say verbose, all say bossy, and have a messy home with 4 fabulous kids and a very patient husband. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am many things, but first and foremost, I am a Mom! I LOVE being a mom to my three daughters and one son. I find motherhood to be the greatest adventure and a most daunting challenge. I am blessed to have an incredible husband who always gives my dreams wings. I love to travel. I lived in China before I married and that was a defining experience for me. I learned that we are all much more alike then we are different. I love the Chinese people. I love camping (with nearby flush toilets), hiking, cooking ethnic foods, and reading. I am extroverted and wouldn't last a day without my many wise and patient friends, who both tolerate and love me.

Why I am a Mormon

Everything about the doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints resonates with me. It is an abundant view of life that embraces everyone. The center of my faith is Jesus Christ, who is the ultimate healer. Whatever pain we suffer, self inflicted or not, he is the balm God provided to help us heal and find peace. I rely daily on his mercy and forgiveness, his guidance and love and his strength as I struggle to become a kinder, gentler person. I am grateful to God for the prophets and apostles he has called in our time to bless and guide us. By following their counsel, I have avoided so many painful pitfalls. I am also a Mormon also because of the incredible role models that are available to my kids. My daughters are surrounded by strong, capable, intelligent women who demonstrate courage, conviction and leadership. My son is surrounded by men who are amazing husbands and fathers, who lead with love and sacrifice for the good of others. The associations I gain with other members of my faith are a continual blessing to me and my family.

How I live my faith

I wake up everyday grateful for the life I have and all that is good in it. I express that gratitude to my Heavenly Father every morning and evening in prayer. I love to pray with my family, too. It is a tremendous thing to approach life with gratitude and take time to pray for others who have needs and struggles. I love to read the from the Book of Mormon and Bible. The scriptures school me in becoming more like Christ. Each week we spend an evening together as a family learning about Christ and his teachings. I serve at church teaching children and teenagers. I also try to find time each week to get outside with my family and enjoy God's beautiful creations, which surround us everywhere.
