Hi I'm Mandy

I am a wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend. I am a blogger, and love expressing myself through the arts. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of three boys and a baby girl, all so different, but full of love for each other. I love my family with all of my heart. My husband is my best friend and we love seeing each other grow and succeed. He, my children, and my extended family are the most important things to me other than the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am blessed to be able to stay home and raise my children. I love to stay busy, and life is never boring. For hobbies, I love to sing, act, play the piano, bake, cook, spend time with friends and family, go shopping, read, and write. For my church calling, I am currently a Relief Society teacher. I have felt the Spirit so strongly being among these wonderful women. They teach me so much. I have a strong love for spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to others. I find so much joy in sharing my testimony through word and deed, particularly through social media. I am a blogger who expresses my experiences, testimony, and lessons learned in an attempt to uplift, encourage self-improvement, share the gospel, and increase understanding.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of this church and was baptized when I was eight because the Holy Ghost manifested to me that it was true. I know I will always be a member of this church for that very reason. I remember that it's true because of the Spirit that I feel when I read the Book of Mormon, when I sing the hymns, when I teach my children about the gospel, when I hear others' testimonies in addition to my own, when I hear the prophets and apostles speak and give us counsel, when I go to the temple, and when I am in the presence of other members who bring light to my life. I don't understand everything about my church but I don't have to. I just have to remember all the reasons why I know it's true and continue to do my best. I can also look at my friends and family who have left the church. They aren't as happy, as whole, as those who have the Spirit with them and are keeping the commandments. The only times I have ever questioned my faith were when I really wanted to do something or have something I knew I shouldn't. I grew weaker because I was turning away from what I knew was right. I have always come back stronger and with a greater testimony, and I have been blessed for that. I have a beautiful family and all the things I need. I couldn't ask for more than that.

How I live my faith

I do my best to live my faith. I attend church each Sunday with my family and renew my baptismal covenants as I partake of the Sacrament. I try to participate in my other meetings as well. Other than church, I read the scriptures daily with my children and my husband. We do Family Home Evening each week, which consists of a spiritual message, singing and praying. We pray as a family and individually many times a day. My husband and I are constantly trying to be good examples to our children and to teach them how to live righteous lives. We spend a lot of time building family and friend relationships and thinking of ways to do service for others. As mentioned above, I also am trying very hard to be a good missionary and help others come to Christ. I am not perfect, but I do strive to keep the Lord's commandments and to heed the teachings of his latter-day prophets. I am grateful that when I do make mistakes that I am able to repent and change for the good through the atonement of my Savior, Jesus Christ.
