Hi I'm Kathy

I grew up in Colorado. I have lived in New Zealand. I have six daughters. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am happy. I awaken most mornings with a song in my heart. My theme song is "Zip-a-dee-doo-dah". I love to hike, jog and ride my bike. I love the blue sky, sunshine and Colorado mountains. I enjoy and dabble in a lot things such as learning to play the piano, learning Italian, scrap booking, quilting, home organization, shopping with my daughters and going on dates with my husband. I am a college student, trying to finish up the degree I started a long time ago. I am a mom of six wonderful daughters and 7 grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon. I always loved going to church with my family because of the way I felt when I attended church. I remember as a young girl attending church and feeling the spirit bear testimony to me of the truthfulness of what was being taught. I felt warm, peaceful, happy and knew the gospel of Jesus Christ was true. Our Savior did indeed live upon this earth. He taught by word and deed. He atoned for our sins. He did for us what no one else can do. His great love for us is hard for me to comprehend but I am grateful for it and love him. Since that time, I have had many times when I have felt the spirit testifying to me of truth. Sometimes it is a warm, glowing feeling. Sometimes it washes over me in waves. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am currently working with the Young Women ages 12 -18 in my area. I help plan activities to strengthen their testimonies of the Savior. Recently, I attended a Young Women camp and I am currently making plans for next years camp. I help plan a service project for the young women each year. I try to provide an experience for them to work along side their mothers giving meaningful service so they will develop a love for others and a desire to reach out to those less fortunate then themselves. So they can learn to do and be as our Savior is. I try to be more like the Savior each day in my own life by studying his words, praying for direction, listening to the spirit and reaching out to others.
