Hi I'm Lester

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am now retired. Retired from the U. S. Air Force and various other jobs. Have three children and nine grandchildren. Am 77 and still work part-time. Enjoy good health and enjoy my grandchildren Love to read and love to do Genealogy.

Why I am a Mormon

When my wife and I were married in 1958 both of us were looking for a church or religion that answered our questions about where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going. We went to various churches but none had the answers that satisfied us. In 1961 we were visited the Mormon missionaries in Lafayette, Indiana. At first I was reluctant to hear their message and questioned everything they said. However, after they told me to read and study the Book of Mormon and then pray about it, I found what I was looking for. The questions that I had were answered. Jesus lives and he has re-established his church in our day with the fullness of the Gospel. We are children of Our Heavenly Father who loves and cares about each of us. My wife and I are so happy that we listened to the message that the Missionaries brought to our door. The fullness of the Gospel contained in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has brought happiness to our lives and the great promise of Eternal Life. We haven't been without afflictions in our life but we have been strengthened by the Lord when we needed help. We moved many times in our life but when we arrived at our new home and went to the local Church meetings it was like having a new family with everyone willing to help us get settled and established in our new location. The Gospel of Jesus Christ requires a lot of us for our own good and is designed to make us into better men and women. Thank the Lord for the knowledge and testimony we now have.

How I live my faith

We have served in many positions during our life in the Church and have always gained more than we have given. Visiting other families as Home and Visiting Teachers has been a highlight in our service in the Church. It is great to be of service to others in their time of need. I have been a Branch President and a clerk for many years and have found great satisfaction with the work and knowing I have been an instrument in the hands of the Lord in helping move His work forward.
