Hi I'm Rebecca

I am a music teacher, mother, sister, friend, and I am a daughter of God.

About Me

I am a young mother of three daughters. I enjoy baking. My girls love to make cookies with me, the added bonus is the wonderful aroma that fills the house. I can't get enough of it. I also really love to sew. I have made three wedding dresses throughout the last 5 years and have enjoyed making these gowns. It brings a lot of satisfaction to know that I was a part of making the bride beautiful. I also really enjoy music. I have taught piano music for 12 years now. (crazy, I know...) I enjoy traveling and making memories with my husband and children. We as a family really enjoy reading together. I think our favorite book so far was written by Roald Dahl, The Big Friendly Giant! It's so funny and we loved every minute of it. My goal in life is to raise independent, faithful children who love their God and Country. (that takes a fair amount of time ;) by it'self...) I love to read non-fiction and enjoy writing in my journal each day. I love seeing how my children grow and it gives me time to reflect and make improvements. I love my God, my Country and my Family, all of which are under attack. I pray that the Lord will give us strength as we try to honor him.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this church for various reasons. I love the doctrine, I know it to be true. At various stages and ages in my life I have prayed and asked God to direct me and confirm to me if this church was indeed the true church of God. I have felt the peace and joy that comes when you ask and I have practiced the doctrine and received the rewards of it's teachings. I know that this gospel is true because I have tasted the fruit of it's tree and know it is good. I am a Mormon because through this church we can receive the ordinances of the temple. Because of this I know I can be with my family through the eternities. They are my happiness and joy here in this life and to not be with them in heaven would not amount to heaven for me. I am a Mormon because I know that Christ wants us to have knowledge and inspiration. That through his guiding spirit we can be given the answers to our questions. I know that Joseph Smith saw God the father and it was there he learned of the nature of God and the purpose of life. I know that the book of Mormon was saved for our day. To guide us and direct us through this time of trial, and turmoil on this earth. I am a Mormon because I choose each day to follow what I know is right. I have an obligation to my Father in Heaven to do what is right and I know that as I do this I will be blessed.

How I live my faith

This year I am involved in my daughter's PTO. I have enjoyed working with the women on this committee and enjoy building our community. Our purpose right now is to raise money for the school as we aren't funded by the government. It puts an added stress on the community but I believe it amounts to a great education for our children. I also work with the adults who teach the boys in our area through the Boy Scouting program. I have helped in the past serve the hungry, feed the sick, and assist the needy in the various ways you can. I also enjoy helping organize musical numbers for our Sunday meetings. I love music
