Hi I'm Cassi

I'm a student, a triathlete, an artist, a teacher, a foodie, a Whovian, a Wyoming girl living in an Idaho world, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently moved to Logan, Utah with my two cats. I love it here because I get to go to the temple whenever I want because it is in the same town! I am currently looking for the perfect job, but in the mean time, I am enjoying serving wherever I can. I love the outdoors, and am so blessed to be living in an area that makes visiting nature very convenient. I am an artist. I love the idea of getting to know my Heavenly Father and my Savior "The Creators" by creating things myself. I'm a little bit of a concert junkie. I love live music!!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love to learn, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ has a vast treasure of knowledge and wisdom out there to dig up. The more I learn about the principles of the Gospel, the more I am in awe by how perfect it is and how it all works. Not to mention the support I feel from Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ as I face the many challenges of life. I couldn't live this life and be happy without them. It's been an amazing journey to learn more and more every day about who our Father in Heaven really is and to develop a relationship with Him. I've learned that He is kind, and gentle in His dealings with us. I've learned that He has a great sense of humor, and that all He really wants is for us to be happy. I'm Mormon because this is His church, and it's through His church that I am able to know Him!

How I live my faith

One thing that I have been really focusing on this last year especially, is being kind. It seems like such a simple thing, and it was something I took for granted all my life until now. However, recently I've been paying attention to opportunities to be kind that I wouldn't normally take the time to do. I have been amazed at how much this has helped me to have peace in my life. It's less effort to be kind and think kindly of others than it is to be judgmental. I find that I am more confident, I have less stress, and in general, am so much more happy. I all comes back to thinking about how the Savior would handle each situation, and in all cases, He would do the kind thing. Even when he was chastening someone, He did it with love and kindness. This has helped me to understand both my Savior and myself so much more.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are funny, hardworking, goofy, flawed, kind, spiritual, intelligent, trying to be the best mother/daughter/sister/friend they can be...just like any other women. They also have a unique understanding of what their divine role as a daughter of God is. Men and women both have very important roles that compliment each other. It's a hard thing in today's society to believe that men and women can be equal. There is a concept out there that one has to be better than the other. We understand, however, that individually men and women are good, but when they are together, working on loving healthy relationships, they are truly whole. Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon temples? What goes on in Mormon temples?

I like to think of the temple like this. We have church that we go to every Sunday, and anybody can go. Anybody. You don't even have to be a baptized member to go to church, feel the spirit, and worship our Heavenly Father. It is a great place to be and there is no commitment required. The temple, however, is a place we go when we have decided that we are committed to the Lord, have taken the steps to get baptized, and have prepared ourselves for more: more of the spirit, more learning, more commitment, all of which brings us more blessings. The temple is not a place set up to be exclusive and keep people out of. On the contrary, the blessings of the temple are blessings we want all to enjoy. However until you are ready for that level of commitment to the Gospel, then there is more learning and growth to be attained before you take that next step in your progression. One of the great blessings that come from the temple is the blessing of being sealed together as an eternal family, or in other words, that the family will not be separated after death. That is one of the reasons that family is so important to us. We also know that not all of our family, especially ancestors we have never met, have had a chance in this life to accept baptism and other essential ordinances, so in the temple we preform those ordinances for them on their behalf. I love going to the temple! I feel such joy and peace when I go there, and I feel closer to my Heavenly Father and my Savior. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Faith is the action we take when we believe something to be true. Faith in Jesus Christ leads to miracles. When we have faith in Jesus Christ, faith is what we do to become more like Him, it leads to change, or repentance. This process helps us to feel more and more of our Heavenly Father's love, and it secures blessings for us in this life and in the life to come. I exercise faith when I learn something new in the Gospel, and I act on that principle I just learned. I have hope that by following that commandment, I will be blessed, and so I act. I have seen many miracles happen in my life because I have chosen to exercise faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
