Hi I'm Crystal

I grew up in a small farming community in Eastern Oregon. I'm the daughter of a baker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I LOVE music and grew up singing in a wonderful children's chorus for 10 years. I love to play the piano, and also learned how to play the organ while in High School. I met my sweet husband in college and now we have 3 beautiful daughters and 1 little boy. We spent the first 12 years of our marriage moving around the country while my husband was going to school and doing his training, but now we are all settled and raising our children in Colorado. I recently joined the Colorado Mormon Chorale and look forward to our weekly rehearsals with great conductors and wonderful singers. I love to go running every morning while I listen to books on my ipod. It makes me feel refreshed and ready to attack the day!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church to great parents who both grew up on farms. When I was 14, I attended an EFY (Especially For Youth) at Brigham Young University. It was a week filled of spiritual talks and fun activities. Toward the end of the week, my counselor was bearing her testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I knew in my heart that He did die for my sins, and that He truly loved me and cared for me. It was then that I knew the church was true, and desired to always be strong and active in my beliefs.

How I live my faith

I love going to church every Sunday. And even though sometimes it is hard to learn and listen while juggling and quieting young children, I always feel the spirit in small quiet ways. Recently, I was teaching my little 5 year old class about how Jesus loves them, and how we should try to think about Jesus each week when we partake of the sacrament. Such a peaceful and warm feeling was in the room, as I knew the things I was teaching were true!
