Hi I'm Steve

I'm husband, father and grandfather. I started a tech company to help people spend less on energy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband, father and grandfather. After working for a large company in the international side of the business, a colleague and I left the company to start a new company. We developed technology that helps people spend less on energy needed to heat and cool their homes. My wife and I love to walk and bike. We also love to spend time on or near the water. We live close to our children and grandchildren right now--so much so that our mail is often addressed to one of the children, or "current resident". We enjoy our "current resident" status. We have chickens and a garden and all that goes with it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in a Mormon family, but I am still a Mormon because I studied the Gospel of Jesus Christ myself and have tried to put into practice the teachings of Jesus Christ. I've seen a lot of the world and many cultures and faiths. I've seen a lot of different life-styles in my travels, but this I know--when I obey the commandments of God my life is anchored by peace and confidence. When I trust God, He has never let me down. I feel His influence and love in my life in everything I do...that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

One of the threads that has run through my life is opening my home to people. Maybe it's just a meal, or a committee meeting for some organization like PTA or a sports team or the Boy Scouts, but we've always made an effort to have a place where people can come and be away from the demands and rush of their lives for a few hours. My wife and I have worked many years with college-aged kids in the church. Sometimes a job has been lost and one needs a place to stay for a little while, or perhaps someone has traveled into the area and needs a temporary place to stay. Sometimes there has been a devastating break-up and that person just needs a place that feels like home. We've even hosted people who entered our home single and left engaged to be married. We try to provide a safe place with a meal and a comfortable bed or couch and the love of a family.
