Hi I'm Mark Anderson

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in a small farm town in Eastern Washington. I am currently working and getting ready for graduate school.

About Me

I grew up in a small farm town in eastern Washington. My dad taught at the school I attended growing up and my mom worked in the office, so I didn't get away with much in school. My town has about 300 people in it and couldn't have asked for a better place to grow up. I have one older brother and one older sister. They are both teachers. I haven't chosen a career path yet. I got a degree in general studies from Brigham Young University Idaho and I am currently investigating graduate programs. Probably my favorite thing to do in my spare time is to read! I love reading! I am constantly going to second hand books stores and increasing my collection. I also enjoy singing. I vocal hero is Frank Sinatra. Since about the sixth grade I have been trying to impersonate and emulate his amazing voice. I served as a missionary for two years in and around San Pedro Sula, Honduras so I try and do my best to keep up my Spanish I like sports but not too competitive. I believe that ultimate frisbee was a sport designed specifically for me, a tall lanky kid who is too skinny for football.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found throughout my life that living the principles taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has brought me greater happiness than anything else. They are the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Not only have these principles brought happiness into my life, but I have seen these principles help make my family happy. I have seen these truths change the lives of others for the better. I believe all men have the God given ability to discern truth. If we want to know if something is true and are willing to act to put our lives in line with truth, then God can confirm truth in our hearts by his spirit. I have had this confirmation in my heart. That same voice or feeling that allowed me to know right from wrong as a child has confirmed in my heart that The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ is scripture sent from god, and that Joseph Smith was an honest man and a Prophet of God. I have come to know that Modern day Prophets and Apostles speak the Lords will today, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the kingdom of God restored to the earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to remember that we are all children of God and that we are all eternal beings with a divine potential. I try to love those around me and serve others. I read the scriptures and pray to my heavenly father. I ask for chances to serve and then listen for ideas to come into my mind or heart of things I might do to serve each day. If they come I act on those idea, if they don't I try my best to keep my eyes open and help others. I read the words of modern Prophets and Apostles and pray about how I can apply their words in my life. I am seeking to start a family and to someday care for a wife and children.
