Hi I'm Ali

I am a working mom with 2 grown children and a grandma of 1. And a Phoenix Coyotes fan part-time Detroit Red Wings :)

About Me

I have a daughter who is married to a Marine and they have 1 baby boy. He is the light of my light. I have 1 son who is still at home and is attending college. Both my husband and I work full time I currently started a new job in manufacturing. I have spent most of my career in accounting so this is a new challage for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had exeriences with other churches but I feel most comfortable here. As a child I grew up in a small town with 1 Baptist church and that was it. When I was about 8 my parents to a trip to Navoo which happens to be a pinnacle point for the LDS church. This is where I recieved my first Book of Mormon, and saw a picture of the Mormon Temple in Salt Lake. I said to may parents that I was going to go there someday, I was told "hunny your not Mormon you can not go". When I was 11 we moved to to Arizona, when I got to high school I found my husband who was Mormon. Not realizing the significants it took me about 18 years to become a Mormon. May 28th 2011 I was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. There was a path that I was destin to follow. It may have taken me a little longer that the Lord had hoped. But I know that this is where I am suppose to be.

How I live my faith

I live like all other Americans, I go to work, watch football and hockey. I have raised my children in public schools attending band concerts, chior concerts, soccer and football games and wrestling matches. I have what is called a "calling" this is an opportunity to service the church. My calling is Cub Scouts, last year I was a leader this year I am the Committee Chair. Though my son is grown and does not attend this is a great chance to help the boys how important community and sharing is in thier lives. With the world the way it is today the choices they make now will shape thier futures and ours.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

As a teen ager I was had cysts and was told I would not be able to have childern. When I finally did get pregnant I had several problems. I almost miscarried twice, and my daughter was born a month early. She was born with a collapsed lung, a hole in her heart, she was blind and had an infection that they could not figure out. We prayed for childern, we prayered that she would be born, we prayed that she would live. God answered all of those prayers and I have a beautiful, successful daughter and a grandson. God gives us challenges and the tools to over come them. Sometimes it takes us a little longer to figure out how to use those tools, but he never gives us more than we can handle. That is faith.
