Hi I'm Dallas

I'm a college student, I'm a teacher, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student that currently like staying ahead of my studies. I have been attending a school in Idaho for a few semesters now. Although at times I find some of the classes very difficult I have been able to get good grades in the classes I have taken. I am a fairly good swimmer and enjoy being outside. I have gone on many camping trips into the mountains of Washington and feel at home in natural settings. I enjoy many different activities and find that I can get along with a lot of different people. Currently I am taking a semester off to earn money for the coming semesters. I work at the same school district that my mother does. I am an assistant for students with special needs. It works for me really well as it is part time and I am not a super important member of the staff. I also have a second job at the school so they keep me busy enough for my needs. I have had the opportunity to learn the Spanish language and enjoy being able to converse with people in a language that is not the language I grew up speaking. I enjoy being with my friends and love to meet new people. Currently the profession I am looking into at school is Physical therapy. I want to help people who's quality of life is low and bring them to a higher quality of life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon and continue to enjoy my choice to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am an Active member in the church by which I simply mean that I attend the meetings regularly. I have served a mission for the church during the years of 2007-2009. I served a mission in Los Angeles California and contacted many wonderful people. It was during that time in my life when I really started enjoying being a member of the Church. I was able to think about the teachings that I chose to dedicate that time to and came to believe the teachings that the church has taught. I am glad that I am a member of the Church because it lead me to read about my personal Savior Jesus Christ. I love him and hope that one day I will be able to meet him in person. I strongly believe that if I follow the teachings found in the Scriptures and given to me by my chosen leaders that i will be able to do just that. I know that the Savior lives that as I do make mistakes his sacrifice on my behalf can assure that I can return to live with my Father in Heaven some day.

How I live my faith

I currently teach in the Local congregation that I attend. I have recently arrived in this particular congregation a few weeks ago so other than the recent teaching assignment I have no other official assignments in the Church. I gladly enjoy filling the callings that come to me in the church as I feel they help me learn and love the Savior. As I think of how I live my faith I consider the decisions I make in my everyday life. I try to diligently live the standards that I learn about in the LDS Church. In many situations I see the method behind living many of the Standards however, some I choose to follow knowing that although I may not see reasons immediately I have seen that in my life, and the lives of those I am close to, that the values of the church that are usually harder to understand are good values to be had because they eventually lead to greater happiness. I have seen this and know it to be true.
